What's in your purse?

Ok. In the spirit of what’s on your keyring and what’s on your desk. What is in your purse?

Hmmm…let’s see: wallet full of the expected sort of stuff, chapstick, cheques, comb (2), pocket packs of Kleenex (2), pens (2), pencil, calculator, birth control pills, pony-tail holders and chignon pins, throat lozenges, seventy cents in coins, and some coupons.
I’m out of postage stamps, drat!

Ye gods I carry a lot of crap around with me.

A wallet, Valentines day card, reciept for car repairs, a fax I sent at kinkos this morning, a diaper, a travel-size Magnadoodle, a packet of bribes (Gerber “fruit” snacks - actually glorified candy), hairband, a small notebook, a hairclip, a swiss army knife and a small tin of hand lotion. Plus a smaller bag with eyedrops, another hairband, lipbalm, 2 bandaids, and breath mints.

Oh and a Tootsie pop.
Twiddle

In the outside pockets, my keys and the stuff I need at work–pens, bandage scissors, radiology badge, chapstick. In the inside pockets, loose change and a receipt for Dr.J’s car taxes. Hmm, where are my sunglasses?

In the main body of the purse, my wallet, various receipts I don’t need, the new phone list for work, a bottle of ibuprofen, a mini-notebook, a lipstick case (I never wear lipstick), a tube of hand lotion, an extra set of car keys, and more chapstick.

i don’t know it acumulates more junk even as it just sits there

When my kid was a baby the majority of my purse contents were for him (snacks, juice, sunblock, wipes, diapers, change of clothes, toys…). Now that he’s three-almost-four I’ve been able to pare down what I take along when we’re out and about. My usual purse contents are: wipes, one diaper, sunglasses, keys, cell phone, travel Kleenex (one pack), Trident gum (original flavor), one pen, one mechanical pencil, and my makeup kit (which contains powder, eyeliner (liquid and pencil), three lipsticks, lip balm, emory board, inhaler for asthma, 2 tampons, and the spare remote entry thing for my car.)

I don’t have one.

If I ever do a drag show, though, I’m waking up this thread.

Let’s see.

CERTS spearmint breathmints. Silver cigarette case currently in use as my “wallet” of sorts - contains cash, debit card, license, $10 gift card to Texas Roadhouse, Brookshire’s and Albertson’s loyalty cards, Blockbuster membership card, and a photograph of Gunslinger. Leather change purse with black and white photographic image of early '50s gas station in halftone screen on the front; contains $0.79, a wire ring Gun made me which is too large for my thumb, and a random key. Checkbook. Pen. Cell phone. A receipt for postal insurance. My “real” wallet, which is made of carbon fiber and is too bulky to carry in my pocket; it has my credit cards, a few family photos, Social Security and blood donor cards, and two books of stamps. A handful of loose receipts. A small travel tin of Extra Strength Excedrin. A coat button.

My purse is sitting empty underneath my bed at the moment. My backpack, on the other hand, has quite a few things, and is the substitute for a purse at this point in my venture as a college student. Contents: pens, mechanical pencils, schedule book, little hardcover journal, cd walkman w/ Buffy the Vampire Slayer “Once More, With Feeling” soundtrack in it, 3 notebooks, one legal pad, and my German textbook. On occasion, there’s also a wallet and a cell phone in there as well.

Wallet (mostly empty), check book, pens, notebook, book, kleenex, extensive make-up kit, face wipes, body wipes, cigarettes, lighters, various crumpled and unreadable bits of paper that presumably once had some significance, clean underwear, perfume, house keys, office keys, cell phone.

wallet, cell phone, pen, and chapstick. I have learned the secret to keeping my packrat tendencies under control is to carry an impractically small purse around.

In my bag is my pink purse (containing money, bus tickets, train tickets and lots of cards), my mobile phone, keys for office, keys for flat, small cuddly hedgehog, mirror, tissues, diary, random bits of probably once important paper, mini-disc player, mini-discs, tissues, lip balm, plasters, chewing gum, pens, a body spray, hairbrush, bottle of water and a clear pencil case - containing, sugar-free polos, shine-control paper, rape alarm, smiley face badge, another lip balm, treasury tags and worry dolls, oh, and on further inspection paracetamol, strepsils, an eraser and a bouncy ball!

Keys and access card, lip conditioner, wallet, change purse, lime tictacs, two plastic bags, Rammstein’s album Mutter, Dante’s Purgatorio, plane ticket from last week, subway tolkens.

Not bad. Usually there’s lots more.

I have nothing to say except that I find the OP’s name quite charming.

Welcome to the boards !

Thank you. I was inspired by your name.

OK folks, going from memory:

Cell phone (dead battery…I should charge that before I go to work) ::insert pause as Ferry leaves to plug in cell phone::

Right, so: cell phone, pad of paper, paper with the beginnings of some new horrible story on it, lipstick that I forgot to remove from costume day a while back, Blistex, lip gloss, mini-deck o’ cards, pen, pencil, gum, cash, ATM reciepts, ID and various giftcards, nail file, random pictures I tore out of magazines, a few pieces of paper from note passing.

And such.

Cash, cards, and a picture of me and my boyfriend.

Let’s see here … I’m one of those women that would lug a suitcase if it were convenient.

Wallet (containing cash, cards, matches, and a small pen), sunglasses, glass cleaning wipes, cell phone, small notebook, digital camera (just in case something interesting happens), cough drops (spearmint and honey lemon), another small notebook (reserved exclusively for writing down stupid things said in my presence), keys (house, car and unknown), bills in envelopes but without stamps, checkbook, seven pens, one pencil, one sharpie marker, receipts for stuff I don’t need, two novels, two unopened packs of cigarettes, five lighters (all green–it’s how I know they’re mine), lip gloss, compact mirror, and two tampons.

This is one of my smaller purses.

Wallet, keys, and birth control pills (just got refills at lunch).

I’d have my cell phone, too, but it’s at home charging.

I think I also have a B&N gift card that I haven’t used yet because they don’t have the book I want in stock.

I use a tote bag most days 'cause you can never tell what kind of weird crud I’m gonna need to carry.

Today it’s my main wallet, small wallet with rarely used cards ‘n’ photos, planner, screwdriver, rubber cement, water bottle, keys, cloth grocery bags, two pairs of gloves, records from my past three paychecks, sunglasses, flannel fabric scraps, freezer paper, coupla cds, a carriage clock, a small plastic apple, a used disposible camera, and some porcelain clay I’m going to try out this weekend.
