What's in *your* wallet - a nosy MMP

Been a boring day.

I made up some taco meat for Sah-son, and a hamburger for me to use up the last roll.

Had a talk with him about why he doesn’t want to get a cat and he is afraid it will bother the dog, and that the dog will have his feelings hurt if we bring another animal into the house. I think an older cat will be okay, and for all we know the dog will like the company. I know the dog won’t bother the cat, he has never bothered anything.
Cat day is planned for Firday, I hope. I found another dead mouse yesterday, better we wait until they all die than have the cat get poisoned.

I’ll be thinking good thoughts that you get a pleasant surprise.

I have a few of the darn things; really like them. The issue with this one is that it has the earliest sights (no simple windage adjustment possible) so getting it dialed in is going to take some rounds. The good news is it groups about 2 inches at 100 off a simple rest with off the shelf ammo.

All my long guns that load from the back are down to .30-40 and 8mm Mauser (and .22 of course) except for a couple sentimental pieces. Guns these days are like some of the girls I dated in high school – easy and cheap. In both cases its the food to feed them that can run up the tab.

BTW Doggie – not that I would wish anyone other than maybe Flytrap ill but the rehearsal went fine. I split some wood down and arranged it in the shape of a longboat and prepared the steaks with a simple pepper/salt/garlic powder rub. They came out quite good!

Just finished writing a couple of condolence notes to my cousins who lost their dad last week. Things were unpleasant between him and them towards the end, but I talked about the fun memories of my youth. Up until the last couple of years, he was pretty cool. So let’s not think about that part of his life, right?

Hope I remember to mail them tomorrow.

Credit/ Bank cards.
The usual ID and auto cards.
My AARP card. HELL YEAHHHHH !!!
A bunch of wallet photos of the kids from HS and into college age.

The one kind of oddball thing I have is a selection of fortune cookie fortunes. Dad did this, I always found it to be amusing. So I do it. I rarely take them OUT to look at them, but I carry them anyway.

Mooom, don’t forget to mail your condolence letters!

Howdy Y’all! Home from the church house. The BB’s and sides were num. Someone brought tiramisu! YUM! The kiddies had fun and the Eucharist was a nice service. A good time was had by all.

Now I shall take some night night knock out stuff because I keep bein’ sniffly and sneezey. ICK!

Nitey Nite Y’all!

I wet my (warmup) pants…

…& my shorts,
& my T-shirt,
& my socks.

Stoopit water bottle in my bag leaked. Part of the shirt, the part I grabbed with my hands was dry so I didn’t realize until I was pulling it over my head.

Today I saw the new ortho doc. Got a shot in each knee of lubrication concoction. Hurt mighty bad. We shall see if these work as well as the first series I had. The first ones were 15 months ago and they only last 6 months or so. So, I have arthritis in both knees. Getting old ain’t for sissies.

Two more days this week. I think I can, I think I can…

A little Johnny Carson (Rerun on TV - not some sort of strange flashback in my brain. At least this time. I think.) and then to sleep. See ya’ll in the AM.

I has a blurf. Well, it is Thursday and I had a late night at the pub yesterday…although I wasn’t drinking much since my liver deserves a bit of a rest after the battering it had while we were on holiday. And I’m going to Scotland on Saturday for a week with 'im indoors and his family so it might just develop into a drunken monkey episode again.

There was one meeting in my calendar today but the person I was meant to be seeing has called in sick so I have a free day to catch up with all the good stuff I have lurking on my desk and in my inboxes. Tonight I have the joys of grocery shopping - I had the good sense to move my car out onto the road after yesterday’s parking shenanigans. Those of you who are my friend on farcebook will have seen the evidence.

In the meantime, I am of a mind to book some concert tickets to cheer myself up.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work in a bit.

Is it wrong that I have a mental image of inebriated simians in kilts? It’s a pretty funny picture.

I decided to get a WaWa sammich for breakfast. Turns out, today is free coffee day at WaWa - no wonder the parking lot was jammed!!! But I got my sammich and my soda and I got to work way early. Which is fine, since I’m leaving early - Dr appt this afternoon.

Other than that, just another day in paradise! Happy Thursday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 60 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 61 and rain, which is on the way big time from the looks of the radar. I have a doctor’s appointment at eight thirty this mornin’ and since it is literally on the way to irk, I am slackin’ a bit.

OK, that’s all I got for now. Time for more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I need to get all purtified for the doc and irk on a dreary mornin’. At least I’ll be inside and dry.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

buh-lerf!

Had a meeting with RH boss re. “career path”. I was seeing that the information I was getting was directed mostly towards people without experience (most of my coworkers) but well, I’m one of that handful of people dragging up our average age. I’m now all career-pathed, and also fed (lentils are yummy - well, mine are in their way to being digested).

Buh-lerf.

Scientific fact: Two pieces of bacon every morning will prevent you from becoming a suicide bomber.

Ruble: I don’t have sexy shootin’ iron antiques like a Krag, but I do have an antique Winchester 94 made 1950ish, and a spiffy new Mini 14 that has yet to fire a round.

Happy Thorsday!

It’s a sunny 39 degrees but supposed to get up to 63 today. Moonday is supposed to get up to 80 - wtf? So we go from heat to AC with nothing in between.

Two nights in a row now that I have slept through the night but I still feel blurfy.

Nothing special on the agenda today, just irk and cleaning house, same as any other day.
Maybe getting outside and cleaning up the yard.

I’m too cheap to feed something like a Mini-14. A couple of my .22s are lever-guns. I will forgive you for calling anything made in the 50s as an antique as I resemble that remark and am feeling antique this morning.

That rifle is 11 years older than I am. You figger it out…

Oh and the 94 is chambered for .32 WS; I can’t afford to shoot it. I’d love one chambered for .38 Special or .357 Mag…

Boss just came in to tell us that there will be some rearranging next week. He’s moving into this office, I get the one next to him and my office mate goes back to where she used to sit. WOOHOO!!! My own space!!
