What's in YOUR wallet?

Right now, how much cash is on you? Not checks, not jewelry…cash.

I’ve got $653, which is about ten times more than I normally carry, but a number of people paid me back for various things, I won a couple hundred at the casino last night and am finally getting around to depositing the stuff that’s been sitting on my dresser for weeks.

$106. A hundred dollar bill and six ones.

Some lint… and receipts that show where my money went…

Two credit cards.
Two drivers licenses.
$18 (three fives and three ones).
Homeowners association card.
Blockbuster card.
Blue Cross/Blue Shield card.
United Healthcare dental card.
Two of my own business cards.
Two business cards that I have no idea what are doing in there (one for a home cleaning service and one for Bada Bing strip club).
A picture of my kids.

£25 in cash (one £20 note, one fiver).
One debit card, three credit cards, all with depressingly high balances (except the debit card, of course)
Miscellaneous loyalty/membership cards (Nectar, Homebase, B&Q, Blockbuster Video, Mazda European Assistance, several of those “buy 9 coffees and get the 10th free” cards, none with more than two stamps)
Lots of old receipts, train tickets, lottery tickets
Driving licence
Book of stamps
Post-it note with the address of a bar in Barcelona that a work colleague told me I “must go to” when I visited. (I didn’t.)

Frankly I’m amazed it fits in my pocket.

I’ve got my money clip on me right now. It only has my drivers license, my ATM card, my credit card, and a $20, a $5 and 8 $1’s. $33.

I thought I had more than that in there, but I don’t really keep close track.

I’m travelling light.

No cash. I don’t carry cash so that I’m not tempted to binge eat.

(Driver’s license, registration, insurance card.
Supercuts buy 8, get on free card.
PriceChopper card.
Health Insurance card.
Library card.
Employer ID.
Phone Card.
Key ring attached to wallet.)

$21 + miscellaneous change that I’m not going to count because it’s mostly pennies.

How many pennies do you carry in your wallet?

$14 (plus the emergency $20 I’ve got stashed in a hidden section).

That’s about right for a Wednesday.

Beat that.

Less than 300 more than 200. I am too lazy to go check (I just changed my cloths and the wallet is on the dresser.) I would guess closer to 300.

$20.71 – 2 fives, 10 ones, 2 quarters, 2 dimes, 1 penny.

And one more penny if you count my good luck charm, but I don’t.

I don’t use a wallet(or credit cards for that matter), but in my purse there’s $7.38 and the debit card I use for 95% of transactions.

I carry a very small purse so I use an ID wallet. Here’s what is in it…

my license
health insurance card
gym card - magnetic key card
spare $20
visa check card
my business card
Mr Johnsons mini check card - stashed away just in case
2 individually wrapped toothpicks - for Mr Johnson.

$13 cash
2 credit cards
Public library card
University (work) ID

Various and sundry other cards like health insurance, car breakdown card with the phone number on it and the like.

Hmm … lessee

A twenty, four ones
Various credit card receipts
Auto insurance card
A Killington “Edge” Reward Card
The business card of a colleague
My gym membership card
A local business “Perk” card
My dental insurance card
My medical insurance card
A free coffee card from work
My ski tuneup card
An “incentive” VISA (I do surveys, they credit money)
A Home Depot credit card (for some odd reason - I never use it)
Two American Expresses, a Chase VISA, a Working Assets VISA
Debit VISA
And a driver’s license.

No partridge in a pear tree, though.

Well lessee here…

exactly $50 in bills (two twenties and a ten)
$0.15 in change which is kind of annoying
credit card
debit card
room key to a rather drab “Comfort Inn.”
a variety of receipts so I can get reimbursed by the office when I make my triumphant return
health insurance card
business card for my auto insurance guy
voter ID card for some reason
one of my business cards, rather old and beaten (it’s been in there forever and I only keep it in case there’s some situation where it would be advantageous for me to look really shabby as I introduce myself)
photo of the significant other
very old university ID card which I refuse to throw away for sentimental reasons
a couple bucks worth of postage stamps. I’m pleasantly surprised I am not the only human in the world who keeps stamps in his wallet. It is VERY rare that I actually need a stamp these days, but the irritation of not having one on me when I do is enough to make me allocate a small amount of real estate in my wallet for them.

oh yeah, a drivers license too.
