Blackjack is part border collie, we assume. His name comes from having one ear up, and one down. Does he have any distinctive physical characteristics?
When I get my next dog, I’ve already got a name picked out.
A little while back, I started picking up some Russian. The first two words I learned were dog (“sobaka”) and cat (“koshka”). One of my cats got the middle name of Kushka, and I’m saving an anglicized version for the dog.
I don’t mind loaning out a name, so go throw a Frisbee to “Shep.”

I do not recommend naming the dog “Indiana.”
Does he have that black/white “dirty” coat? Some of him looks almost gray?
If so, I think “SAM”
I overnamed my dog and tended to call her “dog.”
You could name him SAMWISE and call him SAM.
But that’s a bit of a LOTR thing.
Interesting username for the OP. The answer to “What’s my dog’s name?” used to be Digger.
How can we possibly suggest a name without a picture?
ETA: Okay, I’ll give it a shot: either Lifesaver or Shithead.
The name ‘Shithead’ has a long and vaunted career in replays of ‘The Jerk’.

Against my better judgment, we picked out a name for the current dog first - it so doesn’t fit him & therefore he’s had to be renamed, which is a hassle with the vet/kennel.
The rule is that the first 48-72 hours he’s just ‘dog’ until his personality shows/ he does something & then that becomes his name. My friend’s dog stole & ate a few slices his first night & therefore, became “Pizza”! -
“Brawler” - to go with that black eye.
Draw a circle around his left eye and call him Petey.
Those are both good looking happy-type dogs ya got there.
Srsly, he’s a Digger or a Nipper or a Bounder or something.
With that black patch over his eye? Pirate. Definitely Pirate. Pie for short.
