Almost three years ago, I conducted a poll about Dopers’ Blogs, and discovered that there were a lot of you blogging about interesting stuff. It’s been a while, and maybe you’ve started new blogs (I have within the last week) or folks who weren’t around then might be interested in sharing.

  2. What’s the last thing you’ve blogged about?
  3. Are comments from Doper visitors okay?
  4. Do you blog about something specific, or a little bit of everything?

My answers:

  1. Threatening Love Letters*
  2. The difference in attitudes between two pregnant friends
  3. Please feel free. I could use the motivation to keep up with the blog.
  4. Posts Potpourri. I’m not a stick with a theme kind of gal.
  • While I was plotting a story a friend of my mother’s asked me if I was writing “Love Letters” a couple of months ago, and the idea of threatening ones popped into my head.

1 I requested information about the Drow and mentioned that my family is coming from Florida to visit me.

  3. Heck yeah. Comment away. I allow anonymous comments as long as it doesn’t get abused.
  4. It’s a bit of everything. I keep meaning to do more mst-style comic commentaries, to put up more writing, and to do more kimono stuff, but I haven’t gotten around to it.

My TV getting fixed. Riveting stuff!

Sure! I’m awfully lonely over there.

4. Do you blog about something specific, or a little bit of everything?
Just about my life. Some stupid meaningless rants, some progress on my hobby (3D graphics and visual effects, short films, writing), and some other things that drop on me from out of the sky.

It is popularly said that if you don’t have a focus there won’t be many visitors, but I am not using it for anything more than a diary and an excuse to get some of my thoughts down and clarified. It’s cathartic, and also keeps my mind active, so it’s good.

2- My last post was a catch-up on the last while, I havent posted in ages.
3- Comments make me feel special. Comment away.
4- I blog about crafting, but other things bleed in. I feel bad if I dont mention something crafty, but I’m working now and the time I devote to knitting is not as much as during the school semester. Its pretty informal, I dont expect anyone reads it other than my close friends, and they forgive my errors in grammar and lack of focus.

  4. My blog is mainly for the sake of my hobby of reading the award winning SF and Fantasy. I’ve covered all of the Hugo winners except a handful of the non-fiction, I’m closing in on finishing off the Nebula winners, and I’ve been through all the World Fantasy Award winning novels. I’m planning on starting covering the Eisner winners with my update tonight. Occasionally I’ll dip into some other nerd topic but I’ve focused myself pretty tightly lately.

  3. Comments are welcome – but Timespanner’s fairly narrow focus, and I’m used to it being as quiet as a ghost town with the tumbleweeds having a party.
  4. Yep, it’s a blog specifically about New Zealand history, centering on Auckland heritage. But I do welcome contributors – they tend to pop up from time to time, to my amazement. Quite cool when they do.

    Sort of, but not really. Several years back, I thought I had lung cancer and began writing down tales from my wild, weird life for my son to read someday. Turned out I didn’t have cancer, but I had written hundreds of pages of stories and wanted to put 'em…somewhere.

Snarking on books/TV shows from my childhood. The first one is books (mostly Babysitters club books), the second is TV shows. Very TWOP esque.

  1. The last one in the book blog was a BSC book called Dawn’s Big Date, the last one in the TV blog was the episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark called The Tale of the Midnght Madness.

  3. Yes, of course. And most of the folks on my friends list are current or former Dopers.
  4. It’s pretty much just my mundane life in the ghetto. Mostly seems to be about where we ate, what bar we went to, what we cooked for dinner, where we went camping, stuff like that. Mostly food and booze and debauchery I suppose, but it’s a little bit of everything. And most of the juicy stuff is filtered. :wink:
