60 posts and not one bong.
I had a college roommate who would take a hit off his bong first thing every morning. God I hated having roommates.
It does remind me, though, of an additional item I have on my nightstand: a lighter. I use it to light the fireplace most nights. During the warmer months, it’s in the top drawer, but this time of year, it’s usually on top.
The nightstand is actually a table. Very small, about 14” square. Too small. Always cluttered-looking. It’s made of marble. I think. Not my first choice for a nightstand, but I inherited it.
The lamp is a standing lamp, so it doesn’t take up room on the table. There’d be room for nothing else.
On the table itself:
Phone handset in its charger (no cell service here)
Small decorative box containing Chapstick, spare set of car keys, tooth flossers and other bits and bobs
Reading glasses
Kindle
Remote controls for TV and bed adjustments
Back scratcher
Water bottle, reusable
Two small containers of different medications
Below the nightstand table:
Box of tissues
Shoes, in case of an earthquake
Small emergency flashlight, tucked inside the shoes
On the nightstand on the opposite side of the bed:
Digital clock with USB ports for charging, really only useful for learning why I’m awake so damn early
Dust. Cat hair. Sometimes one or more cats. Sometimes a pencil and/or other small item knocked off the nightstand and under the bed by the cats. I hope no cat puke.
I my case an IPad, a lamp, and a bottle of water.
A couple weeks ago, a similar question was asked on my facebook feed. To my shock, the most common answer was a handgun. I do live in a Trumpy area.
Small lamp, about 8 to 10 inches tall with 3 way bulb. The base of the lamp has two plug ins for my Kindle and alarm clock. It also has two USB ports. That’s it.
Are those always there?
Aren’t we fancy, a bedroom fireplace. I’d like to have one of those.
Let’s!
His 100lb college portfolio case, several boxes of Flor carpet squares and that’s all I can see behind the rim of dust bunnies guarding the perimeter. I’ll need some liquid courage and a head lamp to go further.
