What's the best movie you've never seen?

There are many people here who have seen a whole horkin’ lotta films.

But what’s the greatest film you’ve never seen?

You know the kind. The universally lauded movies that either intentionally or accidentally you’ve managed to avoid. They could be classic films or current ones.

Here’s one from me:

Gone with the Wind

No, seriously! :stuck_out_tongue:

Had the chance to finally see Godfather II on the big screen recently, but it didn’t fit into my schedule. Sometimes I feel like I’ve waited so long to see a movie that it’s only proper that I see it in the theater. My 19" TV isn’t worthy of great movies that I’ve been meaning to see forever…

According to the AFI, the greatest film I’ve not seen is the Godfather.

I’ve never been able to get through Casablanca.
It’s always on really late at night, and I just pass out halfway through the damn thing.

I don’t even know how it ends!

Movies I just never got around to watching…
Casablanca
Gone With The Wind
Citizen Kane

all of the James Bond movies…

I’m sure there are a bunch more that I can’t think of right now.

Previous thread on this topic: Best Movie You’ve Never Seen.

Besides the ones I mentioned then, I’d also say The Deer Hunter, Natural Born Killers (I don’t know how great it is, but people are always surprised I haven’t seen it), and as far as this year goes, O Brother, Where Art Thou? (I just really want to see it).

Gone With The Wind
On the WaterFront
The Manchurian Candidate
From Here to Eternity

Until last month I’d never seen Psycho!
I’d seen the famous shower scene of course but I’d never actually seen the whole movie.

Titanic, never have seen it…never will.

With the exception of some James Bond movies, I haven’t seen any of those listed above.

For the record, I’ve also not seen:
Silence of the Lambs
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
The Seven Samurai
The Magnificent Seven
Ben Hur
Arsenic and Old Lace
The Shining
Traffic
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
Close encounters of the 3rd kind

And more that you will scoff at me for.

Oh my, too many to list I think…

Um, I’ve never seen
“There’s something about mary”
“Casablanca”
“Il Buono, il brutto, il cattivo”
“The Maltese Falcon”
“To Kill a Mockingbird”
“Apocalypse Now”
“Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?”

up until about a week ago I had never seen “the Princess Bride”

Crouching Tiger…
Gone With the Wind (But does this really count? I’ve read the book! Eventually I will watch it…er, tomorrow…:p)
Ditto with Silence of the Lambs
Citizen Kane
Flashdance
Any of the Star War movies, aside from Star Wars
Vertigo (This one has made my list of movies I’m planning on seeing, though)

oh yeah - silentrob - “O’ brother” is fantastic!!
A must see.

Tyklfe

City Lights
Mildred Pierce
Citizen Kane
Thelma and Louise----the video sits with the others and I’ve never seen it…

Too many to count. Of all listed previously by other posters, I’ve seen Titanic and To Kill a Mocking Bird. The biggest my friends can’t believe is the oringinal Star Wars Triology, although they dragged me to Episode 1. At least this way, I can watch them in order.

Haven’t seen some of the recent ones (CTHD, O Brother), but that’s due to availability in my area.
Never seen Saving Private Ryan or Schindler’s List, though, and that might be unexcusable. And, since I admitted to it earlier today: I’ve never read Lord of the Rings
[waggle]Let the flogging begin?[/waggle]

Thanks Tyklfe, I am definitely on the lookout for it. Problem is that my local big theater is pretty crappy about bringing in films that aren’t completely mainstream. If we do get them, it’s usually a few months after everyone else. It depends on the film, though. We just got Shadow of the Vampire a couple of weeks ago, which I’ve been wanting to see since January 2000, when I first saw a trailer for it. It was great, and hopefully O, Brother won’t take that long.

Jaws.

How can a grown man in our society not have seen Jaws? It mystifies me to this day. I’ll have to rent it some time.

FORREST GUMP—never have, never will.
I just can’t imagine, under what circumstances I would EVER be interested in finding out anything about a person that looked like that.

Schindler’s List. I get very easily affected by movies (I cried in Galexy Quest, dammit!). I keep renting it out but never actually having the nerve to watch it.
