What's the best MST3K episode?

In one of the Gamara shows, they show a jet pilot looking around and around. He had on the typical helmet with dark visor.

One of the bots was saying, "I can’t see anything!

Then he flipped up the visor, and the bot said, “That’s better!”

They showed stock footage of an atomic bomb test (maybe the same movie), and Crow crows, “Pretty!”

“Riding With Death.”

I know, I know … that title is as elusive as Robert Denby.

“When people talk about ‘the seventies’, they usually mean the 1970’s, not 70 AD to 79 AD.”

“What? I don’t know shinola about the stupid 1970’s!!”

AH! Awesome. Thanks, Nonsuch and Ms Boods. It’s been so danged long since I’ve seen so many of these; I’m with you, The_Llama, on being wowed by those who remember so much so well. It’s part of why I wish they were still in syndication.

…and I was going to write something about how the DVD sets are nice but there need to be more of them, but while Googling I have discovered that there are MST3K DVD traders! Who knew…gotta get me some of that.

Mitchell!

Hearts pounding…
Veins clogging…

I’d like to add a vote for Werewolf and Final Sacrifice, and I don’t think anyone has mentioned The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed up Zombies yet.

I forgot about War-wilf.

Crow: So some random guy just starts kicking ass?

Or how about Time Chasers? “She’s gonna drop shorts on the runway!”

Then Crow goes back in time to convince a younger Mike NOT to take another temp job, but to stay with his band. Only Mike gets killed when a fan throws her room key at the stage and it hits him between the eyes.

And in Mike’s place is his abusive brother Eddie, who swears and uses Tom as an ashtray. So Crow has to go BACK back in time, to convince himself not to convince Mike. And the other Crow ends up staying in the past or something like that.

Well, since I’ve only seen Hobgoblins, my favorite line from there is “Does that guy have Pringles in his shoes?”

Now I understand you completely. Thank you.

“Nothing drives like a Bulgarian station wagon!”

“…handles like a river barge…”

I also jumped on during the SciFi Years, so my favorites tend that way: Prince of Space, Space Mutiny, Wuhrwilf, Touch of Satan, Final Sacrifice. I’m slowly acquiring CC-Era episodes, and wish Rhino would get movin’ already. But my faves of the CC’s: Starfighters (with the Poopy Suit Song) and Teenagers from Outer Space.

You know, I don’t think there was a better skit than the “I’m a danger to myself and others” song that Joel and the bots sang during intermission on Attack of the Giant Leeches.
Unless it was the Gamera playset commercial they did in that one Gamera movie. (“some parts may not exist”)

For favorite skits – I’m partial to the Invasion of the Body Snatchers parody (Giant Spider Invasion?), with Gypsy trying to get Mike & the bots to sleep.

And Tom & Crow playing “Dog & Bear” at the beginning of Prince of Space. It’s a brilliant parody of something, but I’m not sure what.

The skit in I Accuse My Parents where they explain all the main character’s mental problems, including his pathological need to lie, was the only thing that made that movie bearable. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the whole experiment because it was just too painful. One day, I’m going to try again. With lots of alcohol on hand.

When they did Marooned, Crow would crack me up every time Peck was shown by saying, “Scout? Scout!?” And the mid show skit was great.

I liked the skit where Joel is desparately trying to turn off the Holo-clown simulator from #406 - Attack of the Giant Leeches.

“It’s all hot and I’m tasting metal!”

“Get on your orange and yellow knees and kiss my clown feet that I haven’t killed you!”

“Well, let’s not do that again!”

Damned briiliant writing.

Dude.

“Son, it’s been two months and you still haven’t touched your hamburger!”

“I’m going to put it here. You can get it anytime you want…”
Joel and the Bots: “…at Alice’s Restaurant!”

I forgot about The Brain That Wouldn’t Die, Mike’s first episode.

“Sounds like the last days of Dylan Thomas.”

I forget the actual quotes, but there was a running joke about the sleazy music in that movie. K-Porn sleazy music.

Other people have mentioned the shorts, and I’d like to include “Hired” in that group.

Actor: The first thing that Harry drilled in me…
Crow: Was Harry!

The one about cheaters was fantastic, too. As was “The Home Economics Story.”

Teenage Crimewave, which was a pretty dull episode overall, had a good sketch in which they did a tribute to “Doughy Guys.”
