I started out using itunes, but some of the songs that I purchased and started downloading never made it onto my computer. Which services have you tried? What are the pros and cons?

- I use a couple of the free ones, myself.

- Downloading music is considered a touchy subject around here, as it almost always shifts to discussion of the “free” ones, and that’s one of the sorts of discussion that isn’t allowed. And sadly, your email messaging is not enabled (although this might be a subscriber-only feature now…?). Oh well.

OK, what legal music downloading programs have you tried?
If your downloads were interrupted, you can resume/restart them by using the “Find Purchased Music On My Computer” menu option.
Generally, though, if the stuff you purchased downloaded properly, you should be able to find them in your iTunes library. If nothing else, the source bar on the left side of the screen will have a “Purchased music” list that shows all the stuff you’ve bought and is on your computer.
Yea rjung, I tried that, and logging in through the advanced section and checking for puchased music that way too. The program tells me that all the purchased songs have been downloaded, even though that’s not the case (when I try to download the other songs again, itunes says that they have all ready been purchased).
Well, first thing to do is to check that they’re on your computer. Easiest way would be to look at your iTunes Library, type a name in the search bar in the upper-right corner, and see what shows up.
If that doesn’t work, use your computer’s “Find file” command and see if it can dig those up.
If those tricks don’t work (and I can’t even imagine why you can’t find them to begin with, to be honest), try calling Apple Customer Service. Tell them your story, and see if they can give you credit for your purchases. No guarantees it’ll work, but who knows?
But really, I’ve purchased dozens of songs and audio books with iTunes, and never had a problem with any of them. Can’t imagine why you can’t even find your purchases…
