What's the deal with all the incest porn?

People often find things that are taboo sexually exciting, and incest fantasy is one way to indulge that without showing anything that will turn people off who *aren’t *into it since it’s so easy to ignore the incest angle. So it appeals to both people who want vanilla porn and those who want a bit of taboo breaking at the same time.

Oedipus Complex? I have no idea. The idea turns me off. Obviously it’s not real incest but other than as mentioned previously, that it doesn’t matter if you turn off the sound, I don’t understand the point. The first porn incest I recall was in the classic era with I think Kay Parker having sex with her son (character). The whole plot line was pretty stupid anyway. Maybe one of the Taboo movies. I guess anything to change the plot for those who pay attention to anything but the sex.

Tabou

Might this be sensationalism bias?

Along with the gender ‘fluidization’ from Tumblr, 4chan, and Reddit, I think that incest porn is something that seems more popular online than in real life by a large margin. I don’t even mean seeing actual incest but the idea of it turns most people off.

Personally, I find most mainstream porn incredibly…ehh. I don’t masturbate but I have an online friend that does. It seems that the less aroused you are in general, the less turned on you are from mainstream porn such as “Girl Gets Creampied By Young Black Guy” that goes on for nearly 20 minutes.

You must consider porn re-titling. Anyone can download a thousand vids and rename them. If you do it enough times and write the best titles you can make some ad money.

I find a lot of the videos on Porn Hub are frequently tagged with things that have nothing whatever to do with the content of the video. This annoys me.

I skip the incest porn. I was abused by two stepfathers and it totally grosses me out, especially when there’s an obvious power disparity. I think Sir T-Cups is on the right track, it’s probably about the fantasy of 24/7 access to a hot chick and probably not much more controversial than that. I think there is an escapist element to a lot of porn where you just want to see some wild scenario that would never occur in real life. Doing something forbidden and wrong. I get my fix in other ways.

There is also a lot of incest erotica, and women tend to read and write erotica more than men do, so I don’t think we can assume it’s just a fantasy that men have. When I was, oh, tennish, I got my hands on a VC Andrews book, which is alll about the incest. The Dawn series features a poor girl living with a protective older brother she is attracted to - forbidden lust - named Jimmy. Through some twist of fate she ends up attending a prep school and hooking up with the most popular rich boy in school, Phillip, and a lot of heavy petting commences. Her brother Jimmy is, of course, super jealous. Also they share a mattress.

Early in the novel, she finds out she is really Phillip’s sister, stolen away at birth, and she is not actually related to Jimmy. She is forced to move in with her horrible actual parents, and her brother/former boyfriend Phillip, who becomes very obsessive and eventually rapes her in pornographic detail clearly intended to titillate. Naturally, she hooks up with her former brother Jimmy, so she gets to have not one, but two incest experiences!

Then a few books later, we follow the life of the teenage daughter of Dawn and Jimmy, who ends up getting raped by Uncle Phillip for looking too much like her mother.

It’s the only VC Andrews series I read but I understand incest is a popular theme in her novels. And the girls, they just keep on buying these books. I suspect the rape element is just so this protagonist can keep her moral purity, that was really common in the old days of romance novels because it allowed the woman to have sex without any of the responsibility. Both rapes are treated more or less like a trauma, but only insofar as they are plot devices intended to drum up sympathy and make us swoon when the good guys get all pissed off. I think the daughter’s boyfriend punches Phillip in the face or something at some point, that big bad rapist, him.

Those books were my first exposure to erotic writing and I guess I liked them well enough, though in retrospect I find them really problematic, at least in part because of the passivity of the heroines. Years later, the thing that sticks out the most from those torrid scenes of violence and passion isn’t the erotic detail, but the terrible dialog.

yeah some of it is bs tagging "she has incest with her (not real) brother "

but ive noticed something too a lot of people report/call something that looks abusive or is just plain icky

there was one that was "I filmed my husband banging his stepdaughter " that looked like the girl had been abused most of her life … and everyone was commenting on how she just laid there not making a sound with her arms folded over her head …

Now for the twins at a live cam site that was nicknamed the “garden” girls for their imaginative uses of produce and vegetables I cant say …

Insect porn? I don’t see how that’s a turn-on at all. I mean…oh. Nevvv-er mind.

Give Gatopescado his prize! We would have also accepted “that’s pretty much the reason for the vast majority of the porn out there.”

You can always tell who the mother is because she wears pearls.

If not at the beginning…

Sounds a bit like a theme suitable for those incredibly weird American Daytime Soaps that ran in days of yore.
Sometime ago I saw a web page outing a long dead player in Dark Shadows — which, thank God I have never seen — with passion and probable wish-fulfillment. So some of the viewers needed to get out a bit more.

On a side note, does anyone else who is bored by almost all mainstream porn have an interest in ‘movie’ porn? I hope that Law and Order: SVU would include an erotic scenario for more than just viewing entertainment…

Not as far as I can tell. I get the same results not logged in, logged in, or logged into a different account (that I was deleting, because I didn’t know you could easily change your name.) What little difference (a few more show up, like 1 in 20) seem completely unrelated to anything I’ve liked or favorited.

I wish it would learn that I don’t want to see dicks in my porn. But it hasn’t.

As for the OP, I’ve noticed it, too. I lack any explanation, other than the basic “sex is often about the taboo” and the idea that people are happy to get it.

I don’t get it even for someone who likes that sort of thing, since it’s always so poorly acted and fake. If you can’t act, I’d rather you just be yourself, while clearly enjoying what you’re doing.

Absolutely not. I never click on any of the “incest” videos. I just notice a surprisingly large number of them.

Try searching the term “lesbian”.

Click the like button on a video and you will see more of that genre pop up in your recommended section. I keep PH confused by liking many different genres of porn. Usually what I like isn’t so much a specific act, but an attitude or aura or just the look of a specific model or the action or production. But PH does a pretty good job of finding general categories of material for me. As for the incest porn, I have no idea why it’s so popular right now. The only difference between incest porn and 98% of the non-incest porn is the bit of opening dialog. Maybe it’s a snowball effect. A few of the early incest productions were especially hot and got lots of likes, and producers figured it was the incest angle that was turning people on. I have a lot of it in my playlists and downloads, but none of it because of the incest angle. I usually skip straight to the action anyway.

I’m sure in 10 years we will think of incest porn like we think of mullets or something.

As to OP, I don’t know. When I read this thread title I mentally pictured Jerry Seinfeld saying it and now I can’t take the topic seriously.

lol

That totally sucks if you are a person like myself who just looks for the “ahh this will do” video without looking at the title. Then all you can do is search five times in a row for some vanilla stuff to clear it out.
