What's the difference between calling a poster a c**t and...

Oh, I too think the Pit rules are a little ridiculous, but if they’re there, I’d prefer even-handed, predictable enforcement rather than “It’s OK to break or skirt the rules if nobody like your victim”

Heh, I wondered if this would be coming up. People get so het up about the c-word around here. But it’s not even a technicality. Saying someone *has *a cunt is not the same as saying they *are *a cunt.

And telling someone to stuff a cactus up theirs, is neither. But is ‘directed at’ the victim

If “nigger” was also the crude name of a body part, I’d have no trouble using it. It just has basically the one use though and Michael Richards ruined it for everybody.

There’s precedent. I can’t locate the post in my history, but I was not warned for telling someone to fornicate him/herself with a cactus in a previous Pit thread. It was awhile ago.

Theatre of the accurate, more like.

I’ve already pointed out that “cunt” and “fuck” are different, but perhaps I need to elaborate - one is an equal opportunity swear, the other is just misogynistic.

Unless you’re claiming you were being all womyn when you posted, which …yeah, I wouldn’t believe for a minute.

What does this even mean?

LMGTFY

Yes, I am aware of the meaning of the word womyn, it was the whole sentence that didn’t make sense.

Google that and get back to us.

English not your first language?

I was saying the word is misogynistic “…unless you’re claiming you were using it in some sort of feminist context (“being all womyn”), which I would not believe was true given the hateful content”

Maybe if I’d used quotes around womyn? ‘…being all “Womyn!”…’

Not that I believe you actually didn’t understand my post, you understand…

Yeah, you’re moving goalposts now. We done?

Fair enough. I still find it hard to attribute misogyny to Rachel’s comment when she was essentially calling out ZPG on her antediluvian anti-woman attitudes.

Very?

There’s nothing misogynistic about having a cunt. The word itself is not a misogynistic word.

Using it in a pejorative context is, though.

Yeah, the goalposts I “moved” … before you were even in this thread. Those ones.

 This thread isn’t directed at you, sweetie. You can be done whenever you want.

Whereas I recognize the Fallacy of Two Wrongs when I see it…

Misogyny reported.

If you call someone a cunt it is insulting. If you are insulting a man by comparing him to a woman, that is misogynistic. If you said a man should shove a cactus in his cunt, you are either confused about his sex or being misogynistic. If you say it to a woman, it is not misogynistic.

Cunts. We has them.
