What's the favorite euphemism you've heard used to describe DJT's lying?

Mine’s “untruth telling.”

Are you a fan of the man? Do you use a unique euphemism you’d care to share?

The premise of the thread, in my view, suggests that this is better placed in The Pit, so I shall relocate it there.

“Speaking”, or variants thereof.

Narcissistic lying

I’m SO tired of this. Let’s just call it a POV and move on.

All I really need is the Alternative Facts, which I remember as the first to come to prominence after his inauguration. The Wikipedia entry says…

“Alternative facts” is a phrase used by U.S. Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway during a Meet the Press interview on January 22, 2017, in which she defended White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s false statement about the attendance numbers of Donald Trump’s inauguration as President of the United States. When pressed during the interview with Chuck Todd to explain why Spicer “utter[ed] a provable falsehood”, Conway stated that Spicer was giving “alternative facts”. Todd responded, "Look, alternative facts are not facts. They’re falsehoods.

Let’s just call it *lying *and move on. The media should’ve done that from the very beginning.

But it isn’t politically correct to say Trump is lying, so the media have had to find all kinds of other ways to say it (like “POV”). For someone who complains so much about political correctness, Trump sure has benefited a lot from this particular political correctness.

Nothing can top Alternative Facts.

Unless it’s Colbert’s Dubya-based Truthiness.

Something that is objectively false is just a point of view now?

Politics. All politicians do this. It’s been to such a great extent and people so used to it that the Bozo-in-Chief’s flat out lying is acceptable to those who agree with him. They don’t have to be major Trump fans, they’ll just tolerate it if they like his tax plan, or hate immigrants, or just got tired of the establishment in either party. I think the right wing is more guilty of this than the left, but they don’t hold an exclusive on it by any means, and the left just tends to less outright lying but are just as deceptive in many ways. We got to this point because people were willing to excuse their favorite politician for not being as big of a liar as the other ones.

Lying idiot (duh!)

NPR had the person who decides on the air to explain why they did not use the words “Lie” or “Lying” when discussing the shit D2S says. This was in response to large numbers of listeners asking. The answer was that they had no way to know whether Trump actually believed it when he said it so they couldn’t really call it lying.
That literally had me laughing out loud.
To keep from crying.

Yeah basically the NPR guy said the word “lie” indicates a deliberate attempt to deceive, and since they can’t say what his true intent is, they can’t call it a “lie”, just a “misleading statement” or some shit like that.

Which would be fine with me, if instead NPR would report on, say, “another dumb-ass thing the President said [or tweeted] today.”

Oh, he knows what he is doing. He just don’t care. His whole life has been deception on top of deception. I mean, why else would anyone have neon colored hair and orange skin! Liar, liar pants on fire!

Verbal diarrhea. It just keeps coming, but there’s no substance to it.

Come to think of it, that’s covers just about everything that comes out of his very, very stupid piehole. Believe me!

No, it’s LYING. And all too often, it’s for no reason at all. The bastard CAN’T stop lying, even when he doesn’t need to. Even when the truth is so obviously the exact opposite.

Point of view, my ass.

Paul Krugman has been doing that, and urging others in the media to do that, since about as long as Trump’s been into politics.

Trump bullshits. He has no interest in evading or hiding the truth he cares only that his listeners believe him.

When he says words while his mouth is open.

My favorite lie about lying has been the official line from his spokespersons, that we “shouldn’t take the President literally, but you should take him seriously.”

It’s pretty bad when their official position is “Yes, our boss is full of shit, but respect him anyway.”
