What's the first thing you think of when I say the name "Morgan Fairchild"?

I saw her interviewed once. She struck me as being very sharp, not a bimbo by any means.

The FIRST thing I think about is the Jon Lovitz character.

However, I am surprised no one has mentioned what I always think of secondly upon hearing her name: She played the movie version of Dottie in Pee-wee’s Big Adventure!!!

Me three.

Jon Lovitz bit from SNL.

Tommy FlaNAYgan was the name of Lovitz’s liar character.

Blonde hair, very pretty, 1980s actress of mid-level fame 'this week’s guest actress".

Jon Levitz draws a complete blank, probably deserved, if that one-liner is the best he can come up with

I, too, think of “My wife!Yeah, that’s the ticket” and felt a little sorry for her that so many people remember her as a butt of a joke. But then I read this thread and see that almost an equal number of people think of an almost 80 year old black man and I don’t feel so sad anymore.

Same as you, except: “…whom I’ve seen naked.”

You know, when I was listening to the radio interview, they were talking about her involvement in supporting AIDS research, which goes back to the days when the disease first became widely known, and she was talking about how research into infectious diseases is sort of a hobby of hers… and it was just really surprising how knowledgeable she was on the subject!

It wasn’t a one liner, it was a character who lied. A lot. Morgan Fairchild was just his most remembered lie. The more famous line of this character, in my opinion, isn’t the Morgan Fairchild lline. It’s the one I mention in my post-- “Yeah, that’s the ticket!”

Also, it wasn’t a joke at Morgan Fairchild’s expense. In fact it’s flattering, when you think about it.

Blonde WASP beauty of 80s TV fame. Her birth name was Patsy Ann McClenny. She went for a more glamourous stage name.

One of Jon Lovitz’s characters was Tommy Flanagan, the Pathological Liar. It was pretty amusing at the time. But don’t go by me, I enjoyed Lothar of the Hill People also.

Now that I’ve read this thread, I vaguely remember the Jon Lovitz bit. But I certainly never would have gotten the reference out of the blue.

And I distinctly remember Morgan Fairchild as a serial guest star on many shows in the 80s.

Not every style of comedy is for everyone, but Jon Lovitz is a character comedian, not a joke teller. His humor resides in the gradual buildup of mannerisms. Tommy FlaNAYgan’s lines aren’t about one-liners, but about his manner of speech and the gradual progression of his lies from improbable to ridiculous but his confidence in his skill at fibbing remaining utmost.

Friends–she played Chandler’s mom a few times.

Morgan Freeman. I’ve heard the name Morgan Fairchild, but I have no idea what he/she is famous for. I don’t even know if it’s a man or a woman.

Misshapen/mismatched nostrils.

Seriously. My best friend in high school (mid-1980s) was infatuated with her and had this poster on his bedroom wall. After seeing that, the only thing I could think of was how weird her nostrils look.

While googling to find that specific image I found plenty more that make her look normal, so apparently that one was just taken from a bad angle. And yes, they don’t look all that bad even in the image I linked, but still that’s what has stuck in my mind for the past 30 years.

The second thing I think of is, of course, Jon Lovitz’s character.

Me, too. And I think it makes perfect sense. It’s a Morgan with an F last name. I thought of him, but realized the last name was wrong, and got some Morgan Freeman looking white girl. Then I realized I just have no idea what she looks like.

Hot blonde. She was on Dallas, Mork and Mindy, and an episode of Barnaby Jones. I always wanted to nail her. :o

I couldn’t even look at her face while she’s wearing pantyhose with a bathing suit. WTF?
