Did you ever see Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg’s “Dick in a Box?” I think most people found it hilarious. These guys tread that same road, only it’s not really clear if they’re joking or being dead serious.
It’s like they live in a parallel universe where it’s 1992 and groin thrusting, barely-veiled sexual innuendo is what hooks the ladies.
When a guy pops up on my screen looking like a cross between a middle school science teacher and an IT cubicle-dweller and sounds like Prince, it cracks my shit up (Slick Mahony). Seeing a chubby mack daddy with green hair (and a green heart shaved on his chest) crooning like Jodeci has the same effect. And again, they are so sincere, I can’t tell if they’re playing this for laughs or if they indeed think they are cool as shit.
All of the videos have “hallmarks” that you notice across the Turquoise Jeep canon, which makes that funny, too.
