Leftover cheesecake and cheese & crackers from some seminar downstairs.

The one big perk in working in academic research (hey, it ain’t the salary) is that there’s a passel of seminars/talks/meetings/whatever with free food for attendees and leftovers for the rest of us. Yeah, we scientists have got it all…

One quarter of a piece of a 3/4" slice of Italian bread with crab and artichoke glop topped with Monterey Jack cheese and a quarter slice of tomato, around 12:30pm today.
It was left over from Sunday Night Appetizers at my parents’ house. Actually it was all I’ve had to eat today so far, but I’ll be having dinner probably around 8pm.
I had a wicked bad craving for some around 3pm, but sadly, these were much too fresh and didn’t have the stale hard chewiness I was hoping for.
(yes, I like stale wine gums… so there)
I’m now pondering dinner and trying to decide whether I’d rather have leftover curry or split pea soup. Neither seems all that interesting, they won’t satisfy that wine gum craving that still lingers on, undimmed by this afternoon’s disappointment. Sigh.

Wow, I just had some Herr’s Mesquite Barbecue Kettle Chips! They are relatively rare in Florida, so I was stunned to see a big Herr’s display in a gas station on my way home. Normally I would try to hold off from chips, but those things are GOOD.

You can’t get them in California. I import them by the case from Pennsylvania. The Herr’s website lets you mix and match cases. My kids love them.
