This is a survey. I’ve noticed that beer has gone up quite a bit lately. So I want to know is: where do you live, and what is the cheapest beer you’ve seen lately. By “lately” I mean in the last 30 days. I’d prefer prices per case (24 packs) but if you’ve seen really cheap 12 packs, list them. It doesn’t matter if you like the beer or not, or if you even bought it. I’ll start:
I live in Milwaukee, and the cheapest beer I’ve seen lately is at the Pick & Save grocery store. It’s called “Wild Cat Ice”, and they have it for $6.88 a case (24 cans).
I haven’t shopped for cheap beer lately, I’ll look next time I’m at the beer store - but back around 1993 or so I remember seeing a brand called Eidelweiss advertised for $2.99 a case…the store that had it never seemed to have it in when we went shopping so I never got to try it - we’d get Olympia Dry, which was $5.49 a case or so.
Last year I bought a case of Natural Light for $5.98. (Which is why you never hit the package store drunk with $10) It seemed like a good idea at the time.
$7 a case? How do I get a green card.
Try $30+ for 24 cans.
The absolute cheapest I can get is around $2 (english) pint at my golf club, but can only have one as I then need to drive home
Then again, I drink more wine than beer so i shouldn’t complain
Prepare for an Aussie invasion. A case 24 cans or stubbies (375ml/13oz) is around the $AUD28 mark here. Even taking the exchange rate, that makes it about $US14.
Olympia Dry is decent, in my opinion at least. I preferred it to many of the big-name beers that run in the $15/case range. Keystone is pretty good too and is usually under $10 a case too.
