What's the "Lemon Pepper" they put on fried chicken on the south side of Chicago?

Lemon Pepper would be the obvious answer, but no. I added some to a sadly underlemonpeppered batch of chicken and it totally ruined it. As far as I can tell, there’s no pepper in it the restaurants’ Lemon Pepper at all. It’s lemony and salty and MSGy, not peppery.

Anyone ever work for JJ’s or Shark’s? Give me the scoop!

(It’s powdered crack cocaine, isn’t it? It’s just that addictive!)

Oooh, I haven’t been to a JJ’s in a long time, since I moved, but I think I know what you’re talking about. Could it be Cavender’s Greek Seasoning? Even if not, that stuff is pretty good. I keep it around when I can find it.

Now I want a big bag of lake perch and fries, darn it.

Cavender’s is fabulous on fish, even if it’s not the spice you are looking for, it’s still worth a try.

Yum, no, but that stuff, with some fresh lemon juice and olive oil drizzled on thick cut french fries, is amazeballs.
