Aaah… Haggis didn’t really taste all that bad. The boiled turnips were worse, IMHO.
Let’s see… what weird foods have I had?
Alligator: Had fried 'gator at several Cajun restaraunts. Lot like fish.
Shark: Much like fish with turkey’s texture. Good stuff.
Squid: At Italian places & in some Chinese dishes(at least I think it was squid- the waitress said “squeek”). Not bad- really rubbery.
Octopus: Had some at a Chinese restaraunt. Rubbery like squid, except that these were small enough to eat whole.
Buffalo, Ostrich: I’ve had buffalo & ostrich burgers. Nothing particularly remarkable- tasted just like a plain old hamburger without so much grease.
What exactly counts as exotic anyway? To some people, stuff like tabouleh & couscous are probably pretty strange. Kippers are pretty weird for breakfast to me…
