My parents took the family to Chez Panisse for my 30th birthday. Or rather, Chez Panisse’s cafe, which is located above regular Chez Panisse and is cheaper and easier to get seats at. (It also has more vegetarian options, which was a bonus). I think the whole thing came out to about $60 a person, and it was fantastic.
I’m cheap. Maybe the most I spent was $60/person.
My wife and I had a very nice steak dinner in Vegas, I forget where. Between $150 and $200, no wine. Not very expensive. She used to go to Ruth’s Chris when she was a high-paid insurance person, and surely spent more, before she met me.
