1964 Cadillac Series 60 Special Fleetwood. And it was screaming hot pink. A fabulous flamingo of a car.
Wienermobile! I was behind it for about a mile on the interstate. Wisconsin plate RELSHME. Here it is:
Heh, author Rusty Blazenhoff.
Hate to break it to you…
Spoilered. Only click on this if you’ve already coped with Santa and the Tooth Fairy being fakes.
There are a ton of Wienermobiles across the country. And a dozen of them waiting to get fixed in a parking lot near us. Including a tiny one made from a Mini Cooper (license plate: LIL LINK)
They’re based out of Madison, WI.
Also, this happened not too far from me.
I’m almost positive there’s a ‘hot dog down a hallway’ joke in there somewhere.
My first thought was “Whoops, looks like somebody’s wiener was too big for the bun!”
I saw a TVR 2500M at a car show. First one I’ve ever seen. Think Triumph TR6 meets Datsun 240Z. Article with images.
The second Electric CitiCar I’ve seen, this one in white.
And a very poorly accessorized Chevy Malibu. That’s a Camaro badge on the C pillar, Oldsmobile portholes, a Pontiac (?) hood, and a wing from K-Mart.
Simone Giertz bought one (a ComutaCar) and with William Osman’s help, turned it into a computer mouse that they used to send an email to Physics Girl.
The portholes were a Buick thing, not Oldsmobile.
I’m pretty sure the ones here are aftermarket, though.
The old RAV4s were tiny. The 2 door models were.
Transportable forklifts are pretty cool. I used to drive a forklift in a previous life, but nothing like this!
“Volvo — they’re boxy but they’re good.”
From the old movie, Crazy People (1990). They were definitely boxy back then.
Rivian R1S

The portholes were a Buick thing, not Oldsmobile.
You’re correct, not sure how I confused them. But this person put things from various GM makes and models on their car, very eclectic choices.
Years ago I worked with a guy who drove an old Ford Maverick, and he put TURBO badges on it. The Maverick never had a turbo, and I thought that was mildly amusing.
Back when I had to commute to the office regularly I would sometimes see a Dodge Neon with one of those “Trail Rated” badges from a Jeep.
Saw a low rider Jeep CJ in the mountains once. Complete with those really short sidewall tires. Good luck.
That’s pretty funny.
Jeep Cherokee XJ, one generation, from 1983 to 2001. This one is nicely modded.
The original Beetle looks so small when seen in traffic. This one is a nicely preserved example.
