That thing looks like it should be under Snoopy.
That might work if you spent your entire life in a mall.
Someone was trying to describe that to me and I was like, “lol, wut?” They showed me a pic and I’m like, “ew, wut?” It’s all the hassle of tiny wheels and bicycle storage but without the stepon-stepoff breeziness that makes scooting so fun and easy.
I think one of the ideas is that the Motocompacto avoids the hassle of bicycle storage, because at under 50 pounds, you are supposed to fold it up and take into the office or onto the train. Charge it at your desk, let it overnight in your apartment.
I’m not saying that’s either practical or simple, just that it is the intended usage. This is what happens when the dream of a Jetson’s style briefcase car intersects with the reality of all the pieces necessary to create an electric scooter.
The original gas powered one was 90 some pounds, and was sold as an accessory to go in the back of your car. Drive to the remote lot, and then open up the scooter to get to your final destination.
I saw my first Cybertruck about 2 hours ago. Deplorean is a good name for it.
I don’t know if someone in our small town finally bought one or if it was just visiting.
No symbiotic Rivian, but there is at least one Rivian driving around town here. I’m sure they’ll join up eventually.
I meant that the Moto is more like a bicycle in that it doesn’t fold down about knee high like my own scooter. However, I hadn’t realized how the Honda rear wheel cleverly tucks in, reducing the length dimension a lot. They’re marketing the white half acres as a ‘side canvas’ for self expression and advertising.
That’s brilliant!
A Porsche Taycan 4S, spotted in Napa
The all-electric Porsche Taycan is Porsche’s first series production electric car. Sold since 2019, today its MSRP starts about $119,000 for this 4S model, and for the base Taycan it is about $100,000. The Taycan 4S has dual-motors and all-wheel drive.
For the extreme Taycan Turbo GT, it has 1,019 HP and 0-60 comes in 2.2 seconds. It also has an ‘attack mode’ that provides an additional boost of 160 HP for up to 10 seconds for passing. MSRP starts around $230,000. Attack Mode displays a 10 second countdown timer in the dashboard, as shown here ➜ https://youtu.be/hslRIRuOydk&t=2m25s ■
Porsche says the Taycan Turbo GT is its most powerful production Porsche ever. For 0-60 it is faster than the Tesla Model S Plaid and the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, as per wiki here ➜ List of fastest production cars by acceleration - Wikipedia ■
Porsche owners in the know will align the crests on the center caps with the valve stems. I’ve seen many Porsches with this alignment, and some without.
The Taycan comes either as a 4-door sedan like the one spotted, or also as a 5-door “shooting brake” body style as in this web photo. The shooting brake design looks similar to a station wagon but is more sporty. Explanation: The origin of shooting brake comes from the late 1800s for a horse-drawn cart used to carry a hunting party or a group of shooters with their rifles. The term had popular use in England. The station wagon (or estate wagon) derives from the shooting brake design. Early station wagons were specialized cars used to carry people and luggage to and from a train station. A Shooting Brake has nothing to do with the brakes and is sometimes spelled Shooting Break.

Wait a minute now. If you have over 1000 hp, and you need a ‘boost’ to pass. You’re doing something wrong.
Ironic that they put the “turbo” badge on an all-electric car.
Why?
For the same reason bicycle wheel builders lace wheels so the hub logo is visible through the valve stem hole (i.e. no good reason at all, but it looks . . . thoughtful? curated? cool?).
Turbo on an electric car: yes I thought that was interesting, and a little funny.
About the crest alignment on the wheels, I’ve been told for years that’s what many Porsche owners do. No idea why, but it’s a thing.
Mack trucks are less common these days. Our new roof was delivered on one.
And my wife is working on the door of our 356.
Green is the color of the day. Kermit said it’s not easy being green, but more and more people are doing it.
This one was at our 356 breakfast in Big Sur drive on New Year’s Day.

Then there’s this bright green CT.

This lifted Miata a week ago, Hollywood Park, Chicago.
I’m not a Miata guy but this thing is tough as hell and I bet it’s fun as can be.

Yeah, I could just hear somebody taking theirs, and saying “Y’know, this thing’s center of gravity is too low and there’s just not enough unsprung weight in my tires and wheels…gotta fix that”.
It’s sure doesn’t get easier getting into, & especially out of those low cars as we age.
I was out for my walk last night when I noticed a car about a block up because it was parked but had the lights on. He coulda turned the lights off, he coulda parked on the other side of the street, where there isn’t any sidewalk for people to walk right by. He coulda parked somewhere that didn’t have streetlights. Of course I looked at it as I walked past, & had to quickly look away because I didn’t really want to see what I saw - his nekkid ass going up & down.
It was not something that I could ever do in the back of a Corolla, just because I’m to tall to fit like that.
Ha!
What is seen, cannot be unseen.
This morning on my way to work the Google Street View camera car drove by while I was waiting to turn left at a red light. So I guess when Google updates their imagery for that street my car’s going to be in it.
