What's the most interesting car you saw today?

That’s a lucky guy who owns that Ferret.

I have a friend who bought a used unmarked cop Ford Explorer; it has the basic cop wheels & a push bumper, too. He says it’s great on highways because no one wants to be in front of a cop so they all move out of his way but it sucks on two-lane roads because there’s nowhere for him to pass & no one wants to be speeding in front of a cop so everyone does about 1-2 mph under the speed limit.

Think how awesome his commute must be; if people get out of the way for guys they even think are cops; they are certainly going to move out of the way of a (lightly armored…& armed) vehicle so he doesn’t get all road-ragey on your arse!!! :joy:

Cop suspension, cop shocks; were they practically giving them away?

How on earth do you see out of that to drive it on public roads? Everybody just gets out of your way I suppose :slightly_smiling_face:

He does smoke, & he does have sunglasses; not sure how much fuel is in his gas tank at the moment, though.

Presumably like this rather than the periscopes the one in the above Wikipedia image uses.

A very rare and special Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R spotted in San Carlos CA. MSRP is $735K. It is the most expensive factory-produced Corvette ever offered for sale.

Alright, I have since learned that the real Z06 GT3.R is for the track only. It’s not street legal. So this one is a poser.

The blue looks a little too dark for the old John Wyer Gulf livery, too.

1975 C3 Chevy Corvette L82 - at the time it was highest power output engine offered in the Vette, with a fairly anemic 205 hp. If this model was a 1980, it would be increased to a massive 230 hp.

Yeah, pretty sad power, but that design is sex on wheels.

I pulled up next to a lady with plates, WPT SILY, or Whippet Silly. I complimented her on the plates and asked if she had a whippet. She used to. Then the light turned green and we had to go.

A few blocks later I saw her at the car wash and was able to take these pics. We exchanged pleasantries. She used to have a whippet but now she has a pit mix.

Added: It’s a beautiful Volvo V90 T5R. Very sporty, for a wagon.

Does anyone remember an old Volvo commercial for another sporty wagon, where they had a Lamborghini Countach pulling a trailer and they said that this is the concept? That was an effective commercial. And memorable.

Didn’t get an opportunity to ask the owner for the year but I’m guessing late 60’s to early 70’s
MGB GT

That’s pretty close. They change the rear badge around '70 or '71. The all-red tail lights are also probably late-'60s.

Today I saw a cybertruck with the license plate “DOORSTP”. So still silly, but at least self aware. Turned out that wasn’t the most interesting though, because they’re reasonably common here.

Most interesting was a first generation RX7. Those were really common 30-40 years ago, but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen one on the road.

I think this is a mid 60s (66) “Morgan +4” or a 2020s “Morgan Plus Four”. I’ve never heard of Morgan, but they seem to have a “+Four” and then a similar looking but more recent “Plus Four”. My gut says it’s from the 60s and google is turning the plus sign into the word plus. But I’m out of my league here.

And an '88 Celica GT, which appears to be in very good shape.

Based on the bumper, I think it’s the older +4. I don’t think the newer Plus Four ever had the chrome bar bumper like the one in the photo. It could even be a Plus 8, the photos are bit grainy.

She’s a beauty!
