Could be. I couldn’t get a good look at the plate to see whether it was an antique.
I’m thinking the roadster was a kit car, I haven’t been able to find a picture anywhere.

I spotted a blue 2nd generation (1968-72) Pontiac GTO
Today I spotted a 5th generation (2004-06) Pontiac GTO. I remember all the hype in the early 2000s over Pontiac bringing back the GTO, and how a lot of people found them disappointing (I, personally, don’t dislike them). The one I saw was looking a little beat up – it is hard to believe they’re 20 year old cars now.

I occasionally see those 5th gen Pontiac GTOs in the wild. To me, calling those 5th gens (2004-2006) a GTO is like calling the Ford Mach-E a Mustang. It just feels wrong.

I had to look that up. If I ever saw one of those I’m sure I just assumed it was a Grand Prix…
And as I was looking for some pictures to post, I noticed the GTOs are two door and Grand Prixs* are 4 door. Is that the main difference between them?
*That can’t be right. Is the plural of Grand Prix, Grand Prix? Grands Prix? I’ll just go with Grand Prixes.
Is that the main difference between them?
The GTO is a rebranded Holded Monaro, a rear wheel drive car with a V-8. The Grand Prix is a front wheel drive car with either a V-6 or a V-8.
This is a side note. My cousin is an artist. She found an old black and white photo of a woman getting into a Model A. It was her grandmother. It’s a long story… Her grandmother ‘Mae’ was not sent to college. Her two brothers where. “College is a waste of time for women” is what her father told her. So she went to secretarial school. A common career path and attitude towards women at the time.
So she worked and she saved and bought that Model A. My cousin painted that picture of her grandmother getting into that Model A. Titled ‘Mae’s First Car’. It’s a great work, I bought it. It is now hanging in my house. Not just because it’s a very good work, but I wanted to keep it in the family.
She must have been quite a ‘firecracker’. It was pretty rare for women to drive back then, let alone buy a car.

Any Pontiac is eligible for classic plates (15yo) as it’s been that long since they went the way of the Dodo.
Driving down the interstate yesterday I saw a very cool colored (Shark Blue) Porsche Cayman. I pointed it out to her & put my eyes back on driving; being in the pax seat, she was able to look at it a little longer. She then told me what she saw… the driver’s hands were at the 11 & one o’clock positions with his arms straight out & she saw a head rise up from his lap!
Looks like a 1940something Chevy, probably a slightly earlier model than the one pictured on Wikipedia, with some customization done to it.
The Chevrolet AK Series is a range of pickup trucks sold under the Chevrolet brand, produced from 1941 through 1947. It used the GM A platform, shared with the Chevrolet Deluxe. The AK series was also branded and sold at GMC locations, with the primary visual difference being the Chevrolet had vertical bars in the grille, while the GMC had horizontal bars. The 1941–45 GMC models were sold as the C-Series and became E-Series for the 1946 and 1947 model years (CC-Series/EC-Series for the convention...
Looks like a 1940something Chevy,
Indeed. GMC is similar except their grilles from that period are all horizontal rather than Chevy’s mix of horizontal & vertical.

After some further thought, I realized one could say the same thing about the earlier GTOs as well – the 1960s and 70s GTOs looked pretty similar to a Tempest or LeMans from that era. Technically for the first two model years the GTO was a Tempest (with a special option package). We just tend to forget that nowadays because you’re much more likely to see a GTO on the road or at a car show, because fewer people bothered to preserve those lesser models.
New Land Rover/Range Rover doing discrete road tests. Still on UK number plates. Actually first registered in 2024 according to UK DVLA records.
Cool.

Yeah, when I lived in the mountains I saw a lot of those. They where doing altitude, hill climbing tests I suppose.
The camo came in all types. Including changing the body with add ons.
I actually like that black and white ‘dazzle’ paint job.
She’s a beauty. The NH plates on it should have the motto, Live Fast or Die.
Yow. That SS is a beauty.
