What's the most interesting car you saw today?

Another R-R Silver Cloud (white, '61 model), in Sugar land, TX, as the chariot for a close friend’s daughter at her wedding over the weekend.

A spanking new Plum Crazy 392 Charger. Sweet looking car. Also, a lime green 80s Vanagon.

A new model Bentley Continental, in dark blue. A big car, much bigger in person than the pictures make it look.

A 1932 Plymouth Coupe, I know the make and model because of the license plate. Out tooling around on a spring day.

A 1970 Chevelle SS, convertible. Sweet.

1969 Porsche 911 targa. It was in great condition.

I saw the new targa about 1-2 years ago, a demo model at a Porsche event, and they said it was available for sale (California) then. It looked nice and intriguing, but now that I come to think of it, I haven’t seen any on the road. Ever.

Have any of you seen the new targa on the road, owned by the common public?

The one floating in the middle of the Memorial and Eldridge intersection. it indicated the flooding was too deep to drive through and that I should give up the office trek and go back home.

A shiny, black gorgeous Pantera! My brain was not engaged while I was ogling so I didn’t get a pic. :smack:

??

It was the most interesting car I saw today, the ones driving along the roads were quite dull in comparison.
There is a lot of rain and flooding in Houston right now. The car was unoccupied, I guess they must have abandoned it earlier and then the waters continued to rise to push it to the middle of the intersection.

Gotcha. Stay dry out there. And safe too.

A green Ford Escort sedan. What made it interesting was the customized, after-market “safety” feature…a bungee from the bottom of the bumper to the hood latch. Here’s hoping he doesn’t do any highway driving!

I actually saw that happen to a taxi on I-95 once; the latch gave way & the hood went vertical, past the normal raised position. I wonder if he was totally blinded of if he was able to see thru the windshield under the hood.

I have seen the new targa. In L.A. I want to say I’ve seen one here too but I can’t be positive. It would have been buried in a collection of eye candy at an event open to the public, so not driving in traffic.

The San Francisco Bay Area has a lot of eye candy (cars) and I think I’d see one here, but I’m certain that I have not. I have only seen one at the Pebble Beach Concours, the one time I was fortunate to attend. It was part of a Porsche display. Locked, of course.

Today; another BMW I3 - they are becoming more common and starting to grow on me. I see a few each week. I kind of like them, I appreciate how they look. A young family at church has one, the couple has two middle school aged kids, and the car fits them well.

I was at the Rennsport Reunion at Laguna Seca last September and saw nary a one there. Of course, there may have been several there and I missed them all. I was focused on the track itself and didn’t have time to wander the infield to drool over those cars. I’m a flag marshal.

I’m spending part of the spring in Palm Desert and what a fantastic place for car watching. Walking along El Paseo yesterday, while my wife was shopping, left me weak kneed.
Where do I start?
In one block there were three Bentleys. Two were convertibles and one four door. All three looked very new.
Lots of Porches. A couple of red convertibles, one with a black top that looked cheap and another with a beige top that was down. That one was very nice.
Numerous 'Vettes, all fairly new.
Teslas all over the place including a red one. First time I’ve seen one in red.
A couple of Lamborghinis and Ferraris
Jaguars everywhere.

But the car that shocked me the most was a BMW X6 M. I’ve seen them before but never walked up behind one. My god they have huge rear end. The first thing I thought of was Kim Kardashian’s ass end. Simply butt ugly.

So many beautiful cars that I was getting wet between the legs.
My wife just rolled her eyes whenever I pointed one of these beauties out.

"Now honey, please tell the truth. Does this paint job make my butt look too big?

I saw a white Porsche Spyker parallel parked (twice a few hours apart) in a neighborhood not known for them. Not a bad neighborhood, just mainly young, 20-somethings; renting, cheap cars, few garages, etc.

This morning on my way to work I saw a mid/late '80s Plymouth Gran Fury. They made a ton of these inexpensive (municipalities bought them as cop cars), bland cars. I guess that’s why they’re rare now.

But then a few min later, I saw a Mini pulling a Little Guy. It was soooo cute that I went, “Awwwwww”.

Teardrop trailers are a cool way to go.
