Whats the name of the song playing in the currently-airing Chase ad with the animals?

Like my other ‘ad song question’ I just posted, I didn’t get the answer through google… Thanks for any help…

In the ad, this lady is using a 3d printer to make prosthetics for various animals. What’s the name of the song?

Seriously, it would be helpful (not to mention polite) to add a link to the commercial. I googled “Chase commercial 3d animal” and got this:

Chase TV Commercial, ‘Courage’

Since this is about a song, let’s move it to Cafe Society (from GQ).

I ran my SoundHound app on the song, and got “no close matches.” This suggests to me that it’s either a really obscure song (so obscure that it’s not in whatever database SoundHound uses), or it’s an original piece written for the ad. Given how closely the lyrics match the animals in the ad, the latter wouldn’t surprise me.

I notice that at about 0:12, the singer sings “three bird, dog, doggies.”

Tom Paxton is credited as the writer of a song called “Three Dog, Dog, Doggies.” I cannot find a recording of this song anywhere. I wonder if he changed it to “Three Bird, Dog, Doggies” for the commercial. That sounds a heck of a lot like Tom Paxton.

Tom Paxton is also the writer of “My Dog is Bigger than Your Dog” which was adapted for use in the Ken-L Ration commercial.

I’ve never heard of a good way to link an individual member of the revolving sets of ads that pop up when you’re on a website. Not sure if this was what you were referencing.

A little more investigation has uncovered this link at a site called ispot.tv now, though.

Turns out to be at Chase Private Client TV Spot, 'Courage' - iSpot.tv

If it is of interest to anyone, someone in the comments at that link claims they know it is Tom Paxton singing.

I still don’t know if the song has a name outside whatever they internally call it at Chase Bank’s marketing dept.

Is that correct? I thought it was “My Dog’s Better Than Yours.” I’ve heard it since I was a wee one so I wonder if Paxton really wrote it.

You do know that is the same link that I put in the reply you quoted, right? And you do know that I described the method I use to find that link, right?

“My Dog’s Bigger Than Yours” was on Tom Paxton’s 1962 Album “I’m the Man That Built the Bridges.” CLICK HERE TO SEE AN IMAGE OF THE RECORD. (The record was reissued in 2014.) The convention of the time was to put the songwriter’s name on the the actual LP after the song name. You’ll note that it says “(Tom Paxton)” after “My Dog’s Bigger than Your Dog.” Also, in my previous reply, I gave you a youtube link where you could listen to the actual song. Click on it and see if you can hear “better” or “bigger.”

Unless you heard the song before 1937, that doesn’t preclude Tom Paxton from having written it.

The ACE Repertory also lists “Paxton Thomas Richard” as the writer.

Because he was born in 1937???

October 31, 1937. Paxton turns 80 (!) this month.

Tom Paxton has written a helluva lot of songs that people don’t know he wrote. The most famous one is “Rambling Boy,” which often gets credit as a “Traditional Folk Song.” He is philosophical on the subject, claiming it’s a folk song writer’s highest honor.

And yes, he did write “My Dog’s Bigger Than Your Dog,” and a lot of other children’s songs, including “The Marvelous Toy.” The Chad Mitchell Trio originally considered Paxton for their group, but his voice didn’t blend right with Mitchell. So they recorded the song as a consolation prize, and it sold millions. and a lot of people think Mitchell write it.

I am a HUGE Tom Paxton fan.

Is Tom Paxton saying “three dog” or “free dog”? It is Tom Paxton, but I can’t find the full song either! Ugh!

They did have a habit back then of putting ones name on a traditional melody especially when one came up with one’s own lyrics. It sounds so familiar.
