What's the oldest show you still have on your DVR?

Personally, my oldest show is “Visions of England” from PBS HD, recorded on September 27, 2008.

Not very old - an episode of Home Movies from 12/16/10. It’s one of my favorite episodes, and I hate to delete it because Adult Swim just rotated the show back out of their lineup.

I still have an episode of Jeopardy! from November 24, 2008 on my DVR. In fact, I have both the HD and the standard-def versions.

Do Netflix downloaded ones count too? If so mine is Shawshank Redemption, which I’ve had for about a year now. If not, then the oldest is “Parenthood” recorded on 12/4/10.

An episode of SNL with Ryan Reynolds hosting from the first week of October, 2009.

Two Twilight Zone episodes that we recorded on 1/1/06 during a marathon - “Living Doll” and “Night Calls”.

What made you record and keep it so long? Was someone you knew on it, or did you just like the questions that night?

The really oldest programs are a whole bunch of ‘world’s most extreme homes’, and ‘offbeat America’ which I’ve been meaning to transfer to DVD-R from a few years back (at least three but the DVR only shows month and day so I don’t know the year) but I never get around to.

After that, a bunch of Spartacus episodes I haven’t gotten around to watching yet from last February.

I believe it’s the second episode of ‘Happy Town’, from May of 2010. (There was some older stuff until recently, when I had to clear out room for November sweeps shows.)

I still plan to watch the rest of the series, especially because I love Amy Acker so - but I haven’t gotten around to it because the pilot actually did give me a nightmare. :frowning: Yes, I’m a TV wimp.

I’m second after needscoffee. The first Robot Chicken Star Wars special recorded on July 1, 2007. My DVR is older than that, but RCSW is the oldest program I still have on it.

Man, I thought I was going to win for having just started to knock off Boardwalk Empire episodes over the past weekend. (September 2010)

On the big hard drive attached to our DVR, we have the opening ceremonies to the Beijing Olympics. Maybe something older, but that’s from Aug 8, 2008.

My oldest is the Disney channel movie “Phantom of the Megaplex”, only because my dinosaur art is on display. I’m shallow.

I’ve been playing old VHS camcorder recordings into my DVR as the first step in burning them onto DVD, so right now I have a 16 year old recording of one of my daughters, just a few minutes after her birth, on there.

We have a bunch of episodes of a yoga program that **Rhiannon8404 **recorded between March and May of 2010, but she watches them and does the routines over and over. Other than that, the oldest thing is Game 5 of the World Series from 11/1/10.

Well, I’ve moved the Twilight Zones off the Tivo and over to the computer, so now the oldest show is a Comedy Central Presents: Frank Caliendo which we recorded 9/21/07. (The Tivo box doesn’t give the year it was recorded, just the day and month, but when you transfer a show to the computer via Tivo Desktop, it date-stamps it with the correct information - at least it used to.)

The episode of Late,Late Show with Craig Ferguson and crew lip-synching ‘It’s a Wonderful Night’. My wife and I play it back every now and then and just laugh our heads off. One of the funniest things ever.

I wish I knew how to do that with my IO cable DVR box! That would solve a lot of my running out of space issues…

“Parallel Universe”, a Science Channel documentary about M-Theory, has been on my DVR for more than two years.

HD broadcast of Empire Strikes Back from new years eve 2010. It`s staying until the bluray comes out
