Nothing new about it, either. Remember the 1989 quip about then-VP Dan Quayle remarking after a trip to Latin America that he wished he’d studied Latin harder so that he could converse with the locals? That story has passed into (urban) legend, but it was always acknowledged as a joke.
What made it funny was that Quayle’s habitual verbal blunders made it seem quite plausible that he could actually have said such a thing.
Moderating
Since we have definitely moved out of FQ territory, let’s move this. While it is a political topic, I think it’s a little too humor-focused for P&E. Let’s give MPSIMS a try instead.
Moving from FQ to MPSIMS.
A guy I know used to work in a plant with graphite. At the end of his shift he showered and put on clean clothes. Even after showering, graphite remained behind, especially around his eyes. It was creepy, he looked like he was wearing eyeliner all the time.
The Republicans of course have their counter to the Vance couch story, about Walz. In typical Republican fashion, it’s really, really weird.
This is the funniest shit I’ve ever read.
It’s completely ridiculous. It’s like a schoolyard bullying story. Trump Jr is upset that all the kids on the playground are making up stories about his pal JD, so he makes up a nasty rumor about Timmy, but no one is buying it and instead they just bully him and JD more.
Only instead of happening to some poor kids, it’s happening to some of the most despicable politicians in the United States.

I think it’d be great if Tim Walz (in his role as America’s Dad) would come out and say “Okay, everyone stop lying about your political enemies. Sure, Vance looks like he’d assault a couch. But stick to his abhorrent views on women and families.” And go on with a litany of horrendous attitudes, as well as lies trump’s been telling.
The Dems get points for being decent, while contrasting with The Party Of No Decency.

I strongly agree, but there’s SO much fire available that’s TRUE. Just keep pointing out things that Trump and Vance have actually said and America would never stop laughing at them (and hopefully voting against them).
