I’d advise you not to return to this thread, as when it starts to draw trollhunters, everyone with a low post count is suspected.
I only wish the “don’t be a jerk rule” applied to trollhunting outside of the pit. But, after recommending it several times now, I’m not holding my breath.

Honestly, there’s no tradition or “double secret probation” plan to haze newbies. Sometimes it takes a little while to get to know someone, and figure out where they’re coming from.
Right now there’s an troll and sockpuppet outbreak, i.e. total jerks who have been banned or whatevever, registering under new names. That may be why people seem a bit twitchy. There really isn’t any way to tell if you’re you at first. But don’t worry, and don’t self-censor. Time clears up the confusion pretty quickly.
FWIW, give people a bit of time until you figure out their voices, too. This place has a dizzying array of curmudgeons, cynics, flirts, etc.

How you came to feel someone called you sour I have no idea. Unless of course you forgot which sock puppet name you were currently signed in under.
I think I have to agreee. And I do not mean any harm by saying someone was a little sour. Alphonse just sounded a little upset, I wasn’t passing any judgement on that, and I am VERY sorry if I have offended someone, anyone.

Don’t worry about offening Evernewbie. The post I quoted was his first post to this thread, so I don’t see how he could have thought anyone was referring to him when you said Alphonse seemed sour.
Unless of course, Alphonse is Evernewbie and he forgot who he was logged in as. I’m pretty sure that’s what happened and it’s going to take a lot to convince me otherwise. Wally is convinced that Dave is a troll, and Alphonse is Dave’s buddy, and now Evernewbie is taken something personally that you said to Alphonse as if we said it to him. I’m pretty sure we have trolls or, at the very least, sock puppets amongst us.
WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS??? Maybe I am just a little nieve, but what is the point of having multiple identies? I promise I am a true Newbie and WILL NOT take another name. That is my pledge to you all.
When a troll starts some crap, arguing his side of things just to get a reaction, and he wants people to be angry, so he not expecting anyone to take his side of the argument. The troll will create sock puppets to back up his claims and offer support so whoever the troll is arguing with will feel that he’s outnumbered.
It doesn’t matter, if Uncle Beer sees what I wrote and think there’s merit to it, the powers that be will look into it and take whatever actions are appropriate.
And in case you were wondering, having multiple IDs will get you banned.
