What's this song called? (60s, catchy intro)

There’s this song that I think is a 60s hit, and it starts with the singer going, “No no, no no no no-no-no…” The lyric goes, “Nobody can do the ??? like you do,” and so on.

Clear as mud I’m sure, but the song CSI crew here is so good I figure someone here will know it.

It was featured in an ad in recent years as well…

The song is Land of 1000 Dances; there are a couple of famous versions but the best known is by Wilson Pickett.

No. No. No. No. No. No. No. It’s “Nobody But Me”.

Nobody! Nobody! Nobody! Nobody!

ETA: My wife claims to have, at one time, known all of those dances. She’d perform them now, except a lot of joint damage has happened since, and because, of then.

Right. But the famous version is by the Human Beinz.

ETAA: She’s convinced that, had Wilson Pickett come along ten years later, he’d’ve been a movie star as well as a singing star. Wicked Mr Pickett was a good looking fellow. http://cradlerockstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/wilson_pickett.jpg

WIN!

Nice detective work, y’all. I didn’t recognize Pickett’s song at all, but as soon as I heard the backbeat on the Human Beinz’s song I knew that was it… thanks Biffy!

After wracking my brains, I have finally recognised that as the theme song from David Letterman’s Know Your Current Events.

Well spotted!
