Of course Ratcliff says it’s all designed to hurt Trump, and the FOX News headline says the same. But it seems that Iran may want to hurt Trump, while Russia wants to hurt Biden. Or maybe neither cares who wins the election, they just want division in the US. But it will give Trump another bullshit reason to dispute the election. How ironic it would be if he has to claim Russian interference to do so
That was a dud if it was meant to be an October surprise. But I wonder if it’s meant to set up some other story that’s about to come out - something like “see, we just told you, nothing to see here, just fake news from Iran!” (if it’s something really bad for Trump they know is about to come out).
Well, at least Ratcliffe and Wray provided us with the urgent advice that we should not believe everything we read on the internet. That certainly had never occurred to me.
He probably has no choice – if a clown like Borat could compromise him so easily, the FSB surely owns his ass.
The Trump crew has had more duds and more schemes blow up in their faces than Wile E. Coyote.
Wonder how the qanon/pizzagate twerps are spinning this. Everything is projection with those people. One of the big qanon community page owners was outed and confessed to being a pedophile on reddit a month or two ago.
Rudy Giuliani is a disgusting swine. I would ask how it’s possible to get duped by friggin’ Borat in the year 2020 but this is the man who said four years ago Hillary Clinton was nowhere to be seen on the day of 9/11 when she was NY senator, only for there to exist several photographs of her side by side with Giuliani on that day.
I’ll correct my statement - as someone who lived outside of the area, he seemed to handle 9/11 really well from what I saw. I’ve never looked into it in depth, but the image that I got was that he did a pretty good job, and especially that he managed to avoid stepping into any of the big pits. There was zero chance of me voting for him on his presidential run, so I didn’t look into him much there either, and he still gave off the vibe of being reasonably competent and put together. To use the post above mine as an example, the idea that he’d publicly deny that Hillary was around during 9/11 when there are multiple pictures of her side-by-side with him did not fit at all with how he appeared at the time.
I doubt very much he turns up for the debate. My bet is he stays at his sick wife’s bedside.
Not if she has any say in it.
Reporting is that Wray should update and fire off his resume as he will be out of a job post election. It seems he was insufficiently obsequious to Trump during last night’s announcement about foreign election interference.
Here’s the backup on that.
President Trump and his advisers have repeatedly discussed whether to fire FBI Director Christopher A. Wray after Election Day — a scenario that also could imperil the tenure of Attorney General William P. Barr as the president grows increasingly frustrated that federal law enforcement has not delivered his campaign the kind of last-minute boost that the FBI provided in 2016, according to people familiar with the matter.
The conversations among the president and senior aides stem in part from their disappointment that Wray in particular but Barr as well have not done what Trump had hoped — indicate that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, his son Hunter Biden or other Biden associates are under investigation, these people say. Like others, they spoke on the condition of anonymity to disclose internal discussions.
In the campaign’s closing weeks, the president has intensified public calls for jailing his challenger, much as he did for Hillary Clinton, his opponent in 2016. Trump has called Biden a “criminal” without articulating what laws he believes the former vice president has broken.
…
DJT and his “advisors” – Who? Jared and Ivanka?
Scary either way, but especially in a scenario where Trump loses. This makes it sound like Trump’s plan is to go scorched earth on the way out.
I’m sure I’m being naive here, but I don’t see what’s so worrying about Trump firing his own apparatchiks in the event he loses. It would actually be counterproductive for him; he likely wouldn’t have time to install anyone more useful to him in those positions, assuming he has ambitions for anything beyond sulk-tweeting as a lame duck.
I wouldn’t be surprised if, in the case of a Biden victory, Trump is gone and President Pence cedes the reins to Biden on January, 2021. The sole value Trump has to the GOP was his ability to get elected President. Once that is over, the balance sheet changes, and his biggest asset gets written off to $0, while his liabilities remain unchanged, probably growing.
Trump has some supporters in the House and Senate, but it is interesting that in the past 4 years he hasn’t really breached/joined the McConnell faction and his supporters tend to be 2nd-raters like Nunes, Jordan, and Gaetz. This is not enough to save him, should (a) an impeachment is rushed through or (b) the 25th is used.
Right now, his value is driving votes and that is it. Everything else is a liability. And if he loses his one asset, he’s pissed off enough people in his own party that they may not wish to keep him around for two more months.
Pure speculation on my part, but if this happens, I get to link to this post for time eternal, showing how smart I is.
looks like it is secret bank account in china.
I think this is what’s hurting the attack campaign against Biden. Trump must be throwing in some input. He’s just taking all of the negative stuff about himself and trying to in it on Biden.
So we’re hearing how Biden practices nepotism. And Biden is too old and is losing his mental prowess. And Biden tells lies. And Biden is a racist. And Biden is corrupt. And Biden is taking aid from foreign countries.
The problem for Trump is that these are the issues that he should be trying to keep quiet not stir up. Sure, he’s accusing Biden of these things but once they become part of the campaign, people are going to also look at Trump and see him doing worse on these exact issues.
This is basic politics; you attack your opponent on grounds where he is more vulnerable than you are. But Trump is too narcistic; he’s got to make it all about himself even when he should be trying to change the subject.
Another surprise!
This is the tried and true Rovian technique; Accuse your opponent of your own flaws.
Your opponent is a war hero and your candidate avoided the war while snorting coke? Accuse your opponent of being a coward and swift-boat him.
Trump’s team is trying to do this with Biden. But they suck at it. Like they suck at most things. Except skimming campaign funds for themselves - they are terrific at this.
A) That isn’t shocking at all. He’s been bragging that after the SC shoots down ACA, he’ll swoop in with his bigger and better healthcare plan that he is keeping a complete mystery so he can have the grand reveal after his re-election. He loves pre-existing conditions!
B) I started to watch the posting of the interview and the audio was terrible. I decided to fast-forward to see if it got better and the random place I picked showcased T once again requiring two hands to drink water from a glass. Audio was still terrible. Stopped watching.
