Thanks for your forbearance on the snark–I often deserve it. But in this case I had already read that passage, and now know no more than fresnel lens can be stuck on other lenses and have some special qualities that “let in more light.”
I thought Dopers could set me straight in that pithy way which they’re known for.
Now I’ll have to Wiki fresnel lenses and hope they can go straight to optometric usage. Or Google more. <sigh>
