Clinton advisers point fingers at Huma Abedin, inner circle for loss
Some of the criticism seems petty and, to be frank, catty.
I thought Abedin was beloved among the Dems. Has this anything to do with ol’ Carlos Danger?

It’s ANYBODIES fault other than Hillary herself.
Bad Uma et al should have countered Hillary and her bad instincts…because we know how much she listens to others.
Old Fox News gossip? The Evil Hillary has been defeated. Find a new project.
Please–explain to us the Good Qualities of Your Leader. Start by enumerating the virtues of his appointments…
Mattis has a depth of understanding of geopolitical realities, and a vast historical perspective of our nations strengths and limitations in relation to them, that make Obama and his team look like mediocre preschoolers (and Obama wasn’t even all that bad in this regard).
Ta-Nehisi Coates wrote some long-form article about the Obama Presidency and the subsequent election of Trump over at the Atlantic, while it doesn’t spend much time on Hillary I found this paragraph to be a really good summation of Hillary’s weakness (nothing novel, just nicely succinct and does a good job comparing her to a more successful Democrat):

You seem to have misspelled Huma “Mrs. Weiner” Abedin. ![]()
Top Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin has told people she is unsure how her emails could have ended up on a device she viewed as her husband’s computer, the seizure of which has reignited the Clinton email investigation, according to a person familiar with the investigation and civil litigation over the matter.
Der Weiner’s PC contained Hillary emails sent to Huma. The emails made Hillary look even worse. Bad Huma.
Maybe Huma wanted a safe place to stash what she considered to be her little insurance policy. You know, just in case her job/life took an unexpected turn for the worse.
Oh, good, you know which emails on the Dick Pic computer were relevant to the FBI’s investigation! Good, send those to Mr Comey, he still doesn’t. Maybe it has to do with all of those millions of illegal votes Hillary got! You know, in the “rigged” election. Send those to Il Douche, there are still cushy jobs to be had. (Get your pay up-front).
Huma may be lucky and not know it. The Clintons have this history of getting the legal shit and sucking other seemingly well intentioned people into the fray.
Hillary’s narrow loss may be what saved Huma from a legal quagmire sometime down the road.
This is par for the course among every losing Presidential election campaign team. They descend into finger pointing(this time with added finger pointing towards Russia). Assume you are a high level strategist on the Clinton team; it’s far better for your future job prospects to blame someone else for Clinton’s loss rather than accept any blame yourself. This has happened every losing campaign I can remember, it will happen every future losing campaign until the downfall of the republic.
About three weeks.
At least four and a half. He’s got to get inaugurated first.
“No anchovies? You’ve got the wrong man.”
Ultimately the blame falls squarely on Hillary but part of her incompetence does lie in drawing other incompetent people in her circle though I don’t know enough about Abedin to know if she is one of them. I did have misgivings about Jennifer Palmieri though. I don’t know if anyone remembers but she did become half-famous in the blogosphere in 2008 for a very ham-handed intervention on Matt Yglesias’s blog. I started a threadabout it and the first comment by hawthorne was:
Unfortunately his prediction turned out to be false.
Mrs Weiner may have remembered that ol’ Clinton advice about saving the blue dress, or saving the stained dress, or beware of dick trickle in the oval office. ![]()
Abedin was blamed for drawing negative attention to the campaign because she had a bad husband. Yeah, I know, these are some dumb as rocks people. No wonder they lost.
First off, you make up the shit about hating on her, then you smugly deride us for it. Who got this memo? You know, the guys who are actually supposed to be doing it? Seen anybody here ragging on her?
Oh, so it was Fox News! Sorry about that, didn’t realize that you had such a universally respected source.
It’s the post-election blame game. Of course it’s petty and catty. After 2008, McCain staffers leaked practically a whole book’s worth of petty and catty stuff about Sarah Palin.
To be fair, Palin was a mess.
One good thing we’ll get out of this election is the behind-the-scenes books about Trump. I bet they’ll be fun.
Well yes. McCain on his own, for all his faults, appeared to be a competent choice for President. Sarah Palin was incapable of answering the question “How was your day, Governor?” without committing the verbal equivalent of setting herself on fire, and the thought of her becoming president if McCain croaked in office scared a lot of people off (myself included).
Back on topic: post-mortem finger-pointing is indeed par for the course. Sometimes it’s warranted, sometimes it isn’t.
