I’ve seen her called Lady MacBeth, she sends shivers, blah blah… I mean, it’s one thing to say, “Well, I don’t agree with her politics, she’s way too left for me” or whatever…but the way she is talked about is as someone who is EVIL
I don’t pay much attention to Hillary because I don’t feel either way about her, but this is what I know:
She has formed a political partnership with her husband. This has been both beneficial and terribly painful, since it involves sticking by him when he’s a butthead.
She tried to get a national health plan together and failed.
She fired people who worked in the White house travel office, and hired people she liked better.
She bought cattle futures and made a killing
She wrote a book about how it takes more than just parents to raise children.
She ran for the Senate and won.
She’s very smart and very hard working.
She is very self-contained and controlled.
And that’s about it. None of this really seems like a good reason to think of her as a witch.
Hillary and Janet are both examples of strong, forceful women who don’t behave properly. People resent them for their respective successes and their nonconformance to accepted social rules regarding women. You see the same thing, on a smaller scale, with Dianne Feinstein, Maxine Waters, and even Julia Carson (D-Indiana).
There are still a lot of people who think that women don’t belong in politics, and especially when they act independently of their (male) controllers.
Her views are Socialist and thought by some to be dangerous to freedom…Dare I say it[I am not looking to get flamed] Communist.
Actually most of the REAL reports of her being called a Bee-itch (besides Newt Gingrich through his mom through a heartless partisan Connie Chung) actually come from white house aids and those that happen to be around her when she “blows a fuse” behind the scenes.
Oh you say everybody blows a fuse behind the scenes…not true…She is not a very professional person in the office behind the scenes. She has a potty mouth.
She is a Carpetbagger, reason for NYers to think she is evil.
Although she has no record of political accomplishments, she felt entitled to the Senate. Democrats bought it Republicans are mad. Oh but she won the election you say… A Democrat wins in NY, what an accomplishment.
If you shine a UV light on her forehead you can see the mark of the beast.
Many Suspicious Deaths while President Clinton is in office; I know Bill was there too. As you posted:
Mashie, I’m kind of suprised that you’d believe Clinton would be able to kill anyone in office. He couldn’t even have an affair in secret. At any rate, here’s what Snopes has to say about that list: http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/clinton.htm
And as for calling Hillary a communist, I think that many liberals and socialists would take offense to comparing them to the Soviets. Last I heard, we had good diplomatic relations with the Danes, and the Swedes…
For the same reason you seem to hate the president elect, they just don’t like her politics.
**
Well there’s the #1 reason why she gets all that hate. A lot of people hate Bill Clinton, as you say she is a political partner, so therefore she gets some of the hate that would have gone to him. Nobody hated Barbara Bush but a lot of people hated Nancy Reagan for the same reason.
**
A lot of people didn’t appreciate the president appointing his wife to accomplish this feat. And I think Hillary and Bill were really surprised when most of America rejected her health care proposals.
**
And if a private business did this they’d get into trouble.
**
As soon as you can turn 1,000 into 100,000 let me know.
**
A book that should have been called “It Takes a Government.” Simply propaganda for her political beliefs no better then anything Rush wrote.
**
Good for her. A lot of people don’t like carpetbaggers though. But it appears as though NY didn’t care so why should I?
KellyM, the only reason I completely disagree with you is because you are a woman. Nope, I wouldn’t disagree with you because there are plenty of republican women, the only possible reason I could have for disagreeing with you is sexism. Yeah, no conservative would ever disagree with an extreme liberal woman like Maxine Waters for her political beliefs, only because women shouldn’t think for themselves. So, you girls please be quiet now, we men are trying to have a serious political discussion and your hysterical girlish ranting and raving is distracting us…
I wholly agree here. In her heart of hearts, I believe, Hillary is a Socialist and wants the long heavy hand of Government to control the lives of Americans by numerous Social programs. This, by my book, is bona fide evil. Just look at her failed Health Care scheme and you get to peek into her true nature.
I would also add, as a point against her, she believes in vast Right Wing Conspiracies. Or was that an out and out lie?.
I hate to defend Hillary, but this one is one is a stretcher and a little hard to believe.
As for the name calling of the Lady MacBeth of New York, I think that may be a touch unfair. After all, Shakespeare’s character developed a guilty conscious upon seeing the image of a bloody dagger, but Hillary would probably ask “Is it sharp enough it cut off Bill’s slick willie.”
Take it from me, you shouldn’t have dared - good thing you posted the disclaimer. Perhaps you should have added [I don’t know what Communism is] as well.
Right, the OP: Good question. Obviously, a lot of people find it way easier to attack people than their point of views. Perhaps the attacks appear more vitriolic to us because Hillary is a special case compared to the average politician, being a woman, First Lady etc. - this opens some avenues of attack not normally used, and this has a sort of “first-time” shock effect.
Or perhaps it’s simply frustration that the Clinton team is getting a second chance because both have the audacity to be talented politicians.
Would you please give me evidence of HILLARY! being a talented politician. She ran for one office and got it because she is a Demokrat with notoriety. She has absolutely no political achievements to speak of…except that she says she cares about children.
Answering the OP from the personal point of view:
I do not like Janet Reno, but she is the one who has different views. Which is understandble and is OK. Hillarious talks if she were my mother, like she knows something I could never understand, and, being who she is, she is willing to explain everything to me, so now I know better, how to put two and two together.
That I hate.
And she is soooo phoney… I remember her say, with a straight face, that she was named after Sir Hillary (who climbed Mt. Everest). Yeah, right. He did it five years after she was born. So false, I want to take a shower every time I hear her speak.
Did she say she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary BECAUSE he climbed Everest? Because unless she said THAT, then it is wrong to accuse her of lying about it. After all, the man existed prior to climbing Everest. It’s entirely likely that back then he was a minor celebrity before he actually conquered the mountain and her parents could have heard of him/admired him for any number of reasons we don’t know about.
OK I’ll try again. There are several people, Richard Mellon Scaife notable among them, who have provided a lot of money and direction for the Clinton haters. This group, as I said, is not really “vast” but it has been very active in trying to damage Clinton. If we want a real mysterious death to look into, how about Steve Kangas, who was found shot in Scaife’s bathroom? JDM
Did it ever occur to you that she might have been named after him for something he did prior to climbing Everest? Everest wasn’t the first mountain Sir Hillary climbed, you know.
I have to wonder, too, why you have to make up reasons as petty as this one to dislike her.
