Kewl! Does Havok get to wear that money-suit with the concentric circles on it? His powers always look more impressive when they come out in the shape of concentric circles.
Or better yet, do Scott’s and Alex’s power negate on the other brother? 'Cause brother vs. brother fights are much better when you have to use your fists instead of long range attacks. It allows for dialouge, instead of shouting matches.
Yup, they seem to be immune to each other. Havok doesn’t get the suit, though. of course, that’s a good thing; it looked awful.
Er … when I said “money-suit”, I meant “monkey-suit” (which is what Iceman called it the fist time he saw it in X-Men issue #56). :smack:
Plus, I seem to remember Havok had another, “Cooler” suit when he made a suest appearance in the Fox X-Men cartoon series. (Where he also discovered that his power had no effect on Cyclops and vice-versa.)
I’m a recent fan of X-Men Evolution. Stumbled across it by accident while channel surfing. I love the animation! Way better than the earlier X-Men cartoon series, IMHO.
Nightcrawler is yummy. I’d like to eat him with a spoon.
I placed an order online to buy the X-Men Evolution videotapes and the X-Men Evolution trade paperback by Devin Grayson that Amazon offers.
They actually made me feel sad for the characters when Nightcrawler was talking about finding his mother. In a cartoon. That’s sydicated. That’s never happened to me before.
It’s great because it’s designed for younger watchers (ok, younger than me I’d assume, and I’m 25), but it doesn’t talk down to them and keeps me entertained (Forge and Nightcrawler’s stuff was funny.) No one is too much of a cardboard cutout.
I do have two tiny quibbles: It’s annoying that Mystique can turn into anything like a cat or a bird. Keep it just with people. Much more interesting. Also, I think all of the voices are spot-on, with the exception of Magneto. He’s just TOO dramatic sounding. He needs to sound more “human”, as it were.
Oh, and Kitty? Also very spoon-y.
Is it wrong to lust after cartoons? Nightcrawler is delectable in this version, and Wolverine has a sexy growly voice. And Rogue works my nerves for the most part, but is deadly hot whenever she gets angry.
Mystique bugs me. She can look like anyone or anything… and she dresses like that? Jeez.
Also, the speedy guy… Quicksilver? How do they ever beat him? He’s too fast to grab or zap or anything.
We’ve had entire threads devoted to lusting after various X-Men…long before the movies.
Jean can grab him telekinetically, although he can still make trouble while held so. In his introductory episode, she snatched him up and held him while Cyclops blasted him. Then Spyke pinned him to a wall.
Also, he’s almost constantly bored, easily distracted, and boastful. His speed doesn’t help him when he stops to brag, or lets his mind wander. Anyone can sneak up on him at that point, or put things in his way. When Spyke makes an obstacle course for him instead of trying to hit him directly, it works better.
Yeah, that is odd - I mean, its not like she really needs that power addition.
Quicksilver’s biggest problem is that he can’t focus very well. His mind is always bouncing back and forth from even to event.
One thing I really liked about this series is that it spent almost as much time with the “villains” as with the heroes. The Brotherhood is pretty interesting, particularly Lance.
I am also glad I’m not the only person who feels a strange attraction to Nightcrawler. No, seriosuly, I’m not gay. Honest!
Well maybe just a little… fuzzy blue elf lovin’…
BAD THOUGHTS! BAD THOUGHTS! BAD SMILING BANDIT!
Recently I’ve become annoyed that Spyke and Nightcrawler (and maybe others) have this habit of tucking their shirt into their underwear. I can understand if their pants ride low in the sad tradition of Marky Mark, but who tucks their shirts into their underwear?? And on Nightcrawler, it’s a hologram, so that means the professor actually designed it that way, whereas with Spyke you could just call it absent-mindedness.
Also it’s become clear that I’m missing some of these episodes as they air. I thought it was Mon-Thu 10:30pm on Cartoon Network. What night am I missing?
It also airs on Saturday at 9:00 PM and Sunday at 10:30 PM (Eastern), Daniel. I’m not sure if the weekend shows are in sequence with the weekday eps, but they seem to be.
BTW, www.cartoonnetwork.com has a very nice schedule setup. You can pull up the schedule for a particular date and time zone, or you can display all scheduled episodes of a particular show.
I’m a straight guy. But, Kurt is HOT! The Nightcrawler of the comics is an expert gymnast(he took gold in the super olympics), expert ballroom dancer, expert fencer(he can fight with a sword in each hand and one in his tail), and Errol Flynn style swashbuckler. Plus, his skin is covered in fur like velvet.
The series Exiles features Xmen from alternate timelines. Nocturne is Kurt’s daughter(I don’t know who her mother is) from a possible future. All the physical qualities that make Nightcrawler hot, in a female form.
bump
I’ll actually admit to sharing the Nightcrawler-interest-though-I’m-a-hetero-male trend. He’s just so…so…cute. (And not religious yet, interestingly.)
Wait a second - three straight guys interested in Nightcrawler? Something funny is going on here - and it ain’t us!
Fuzzy elf porn?
Yeah, I can’t explain it either. It’s like he’s a living puppy, you wouldn’t dare kick him, you’d rather scratch behind his ears. And he actually makes the German accent sound friendly. And he looks cool when he walks and swishes his tail.
And on a totally Nightcrawler-unrelated topic, I will soon be changing my signature. Very soon. Right away.
Maybe he could curl up on my bed and I could use him for a pillow?
Behold the power of the PREHENSILE TAIL, gentlemen! Do not try to resist, it is useless! Whether it be comics, movies or TV, the PREHENSILE TAIL is all powerful!
By the way, any OZ fans will find the spoon remarks amusing in a very sick way…
.:Nichol:.
A “Which of the X-Men Would You…” thread some time back included a hypothetical “If you were gay or the opposite of your gender, which would you boink?” question. I think Kurt got the most votes there. He also got a big vote from the straight women and gay men who posted (IIRC, he and Wolverine topped the lists). Listed reasons included cuteness, cool blue fur, sexy accent, and above all the prehensile tail that so fascinates Nichol.
“Make yourself at home,” I said to the cute furry blue elf. Forever, I added to that sentence silently.
Nightcrawler curled up on my bed.
He fell asleep within a couple of minutes. I quietly curled up next to him and gently rested my head upon him.
I savored this beautiful moment of enjoying having Nightcrawler as my pillow.
Suddenly the door to my bedroom burst open. My mom appeared in the doorway.
“Wake up! You’ll be late for school!”
I looked around. I was alone in bed.
Was it a dream, or did Nightcrawler teleport himself just in time?
