What's white on the outside and brown on the inside?

#1. I make a crinkle cookie that’s a brownie like thing with powdered sugar on the outside.
#2 chicken shit.
#3. An Albino with a dark soul.

Burrito

A not particularly appetising looking Lasagne?

I like golf ball, Marmite sandwich and burrito.:stuck_out_tongue: I’ll probably stick with Marmite sandwich since I’m a Marmite fan. Honorable mention to “wigger” but what I have in mind is Filipino brown, not African brown.

Thanks to all for participating.

The (very good) author Mat Johnson used the word Inconegro, a black guy who looks white (thus hearing a lot of racist shit because people think he’s safe). If that’s what you mean, it’s a great coinage. If you mean an actual white person of European ancestry who “feels” black, I think Ali G or Rachel Dolezal are the right term, neither would used in a flattering way.

I’m not surprised you don’t want to be a Zero.

Or a J Rock if there are any Trailer Park Boys in the audience.

Oh! There’s something poetic about that. I hope your dog is alive and well and it was not a snow memorial for dog’s last ever dump.

Not a single WTF comment? How the heck can someone’s behavior be “too white”? Who made up a “white behavior” check list, and what group of people did they base it on? :dubious:

Here’s one. WTF?

Anything else I’d say runs the risk of threadshitting or junior modding, so I’ll leave it at that.

Well, if you speak proper English, don’t live on the Rez or in the Hood, and don’t dress/eat/live day to day steeped in your culture: you might be an Apple or an Oreo.

I’m almost 50 and heard the former at a very young age. I guess every group has to have “them” so as to have someone to be superior to.

I just want to sit and contemplate the subtle difference between a zero and nothing.

White on the outside and brown on the inside? An overcooked baked potato that fell into the ashes, maybe?

I’ll bite. Bear in mind that this is used as a criticism, and sin is usually in the eye of the beholder.

“Too white” means that the person who is being criticized is acting in a way that is, at best, more like white culture than the culture of the ethnicity they belong too. At worst, they’re throwing their fellows under the bus to get brownie points from the people in power.

Michael Jackson was accused in his time of being an oreo because the plastic surgery he had to make his face look more caucasian. Unfair, IMO, because he was raised in an environment that said that was the only acceptable way to look. That’s the only specific use of the term “oreo” I can remember, but I have heard it in referring to others in the past, just can’t remember specifics.

In light of my interpretation of the terms, I’d guess that the closest common phrase would be “going native”
