God damn people. If your sig is 3 times as long as your post, that means your sig is too long. When quoting something you consider to be a literary masterpiece, or song, or Simpsons episode, you dont need to put the entire chapter/verse/script in your sig. I dont want to single anyone out in here because some of the people with monster sigs are some of my favorite posters to read. But good grief!! Anything more than 4 lines is too much!!

I know I’m running a risk of being wooshed here, but…no. You’ve got enough sig for 20 Dopers tacked to the end of your posts. You can color me not very surprised if the powers that be request that you perform a sigectomy.
Truth be told, it was supposed to be a one-shot deal. I’m accustomed to Usenet, where a .sig stays put once you’ve hit ‘send;’ I had no idea that if I changed it for that post, it’d change it on ALL my posts.
You wacky kids and this newfangled ‘web’ stuff are gonna be the death of me yet.
I swear, one of these days they’re going to find me sitting here, in front of the computer, having coughed up a lung laughing. That’ll be how I go, I know it.
And, for your perusal, I include my sig, which I’ve been thinking of trimming. Even though I never use it.
And let’s not forget that the Moderators and Administrators have requested that after your first post in a thread, don’t tie up bandwidth with your sig in every subsequent post. Only your first post in a thread should have your sig, the rest should not.
