I think board members are becoming too lackadaisical about all the rules and the idea behind them. Leet, spelling and grammatical errors, use of foreign languages, threads in wrong forums, drive-by posts by people who haven’t even read the thread, asking questions that have just been answered (again and again,) rehashing popular threads, using the board as a blog or IM, people just aren’t thinking before posting.
I say ban everybody.
I think the forums are divided illogically anyway, and it is confusing for novices to adapt.

Actually, I don’t see the problem with a few little reminders now and then to posters by non-moderators. For example, we often get people posting comments about Cecil’s Reports or the Staff Reports, and frequently, it’s a new poster who doesn’t realize that it’s considered good manners here to post a link to the article. I don’t see why a non-moderator can’t simply mention the fact to the OP and post a link for them.
Yeah, and besides, some of us just like to play at being moderators. Dread Pirate Jimbo and I have a whole…routine worked out, with costumes and everything (moderator hats and underoos included, of course).

Funny - I was just going to complain about the moderators acting like newbies.
Nope, that isn’t one of the ones I read, and that’s not really the kind of quasimoderation I’m talking about - you’re just asking why it’s in it’s current forum, you aren’t saying ‘This thread needs to be punted to IMHO!’ or something like that.
