Note the weird red symbol that begins at the letter “M” in the word “Mark.” WTF? Is it supposed to be a leaf or something? Or is it supposed to be Adam’s mark (IOW, a mark made by someone named Adam)? If so, who is Adam, and why did they name a hotel after his scribblings?
Great minds, and all that.
I emailed Adam’s Mark and received a prompt reply, here in its entirety:
The name “Adam’s Mark” is comprised of two separate entities.
“Adam” is the name of one of two mountains in Colorado that
comprise the Adam’s Rib Development; the other mountain is
called Eve.
Mr. Fred Kummer (CEO of HBE Corporation, Adam’s Mark Hotels’
parent company) has been going to Colorado for many years. During
his visits, he stayed at the Mark Lodge, which is where he
derived the second portion of the chain’s name.
The corporate logo is an artist’s impression of a mark designed
specifically for Mr. Kummer.
Doesn’t really shed any light on the matter, does it?
