Anyone know what the Adam's Mark is?

It’s a hotel chain, of course, but specifically the logo. You can see it in the top right of this link below. I work right across the street of one such building, and I’ve always wondered what their logo was supposed to represent. To me, it looks like the silhouette of a gaily-skipping Bart Simpson. Any ideas???

I always just assumed it was a stylized flower. You could always just zip them off an email and ask.

I used to frequent the club in one of the hotels and always assumed it was a “highly” stylized fig leaf.

OTOH, if you draw a circle around it and use a great amount of imagination, you could possibly see it as the international symbol for “No” on top of a stylized penis and testicles. I guess Eve might have been the one who left the mark.

I love commercial graphics designers, they come up with the strangest stuff sometimes.

See I envision a human (stick figure in 90’s style) taking a step forward thereby giving you the image that staying at their hotels give you a step forward to your business trip and family vacation. < cough >

Look at many logos and ask the designer and they will give you a very scientific/psychological description of what the logo represents. I crack up at some of them, others do make ya think.

This one made you think so it’s engrained in your brain and you will never forget The Adam’s Mark hotel franchise.

Ah damn, now I see Bart Simpson…damn!

That is too funny!!! I don’t even watch the show but see enough Butterfinger commercials to want to slit my wrists.

Facetiousness aside, it does appear to be a slightly angled view of a fig leaf. Note the five somewhat rounded protrusions from the central mass. No doubt that’s what the logo designer had in mind. Happily, I see no trace of Bart, and I refuse to look at the logo any more for fear that I will.

Witness all, and let the shunning begin: I hate the Simpsons.

Perhaps the design is an odd surgical scar, like one might have if a rib were removed.

Back in college, my rowing team stayed at an Adam’s Mark hotel for a regatta. Our coxswain’s name was Adam, and he had (literally) a great big head. We joked that if we lost the race, we were gonna toss him off the roof and that’d be the mark Adam would leave when he hit the pavement: if you look at it kinda upside-down like, it looks like a guy with two arms, two legs, and a great big head. Or at least, it looks like his chaulk outline.

Just so you know, Adam survived
