I know the Board is getting slower and slower all the time, but today I tried three times to post a reply to a thread in IMHO, and it just timed out each time. I then closed the browser, reopened and tried again, no joy. Whassup?
I guess somebody spent the subscription money on hookers and blow instead of a server upgrade.
What’s wrong with SDMS not taking replies?"
SDMB, of course. :smack:
Update: On the 4th try, it finally accepted it after a 4-minute wait.
An Arky, guess the hooker went home.
Moved to ATMB.

I’m always perplexed by these threads. I’m working on a two year old machine on a cable modem and I NEVER have complaints or trouble replying. I don’t know what the deal is but I appear to be blessed.
It appears that we had some sort of general server problem at around 10 AM PST. At that time, I couldn’t get any of the forums to open.
It’s nothing to do with your connection, and everything to do with the server not being up to the job. You’re just fortunate to not be trying to post at the busiest times.
I don’t know. I had problems myself.
I don’t know why things went so bad earlier today. But I can speculate.
Please note that there’s a lot of stuff between your computer and our server and any damn thing can happen. Bottlenecks and breakdowns are not uncommon, especially during this time of the year. Between bad weather and more demand overall (people are home from school, on vacation from work, buying new computers, staying in more), this is about usual for this time of year. It probably won’t get much better between now and after the first of the year, when people go back to work, back to school, etc.
Sorry you had problems.

I thought this was going to be a discussion of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Cuz they always take my replies.
