What's your all time favorite relaxing song?

Every time I hear “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay” my pulse drops and the tension of traffic dissolves.

Nothing can bother me when I hear ‘Green Onion’ by Booker T. and the MG’s. I just start bobbing my head and snapping my fingers.

I just love Cheap Trick’s That 70’s Show Theme
That makes me forget the iron-burn I just got doing laundry

Kokomo by the Beach Boys always makes me want to climb into the nearest hammock and do nothing.

“Old Love”, from Eric Clapton’s Unplugged album.

There’s no particular song, but if I put in a Shadowfax album everything slows down nicely.

When I listen to the Hope Floats soundtrack I get so relaxed and everything seems alright. I think it is beucase it got me through some really tough times.

I just need to put in Kind of Blue by Miles Davis and nothing else matters.

All time most relaxing song? Has to be Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty.

“The Unfolding” by Lisa Gerrard & Pieter Bourke from “Duality”

For an evening, Harold Budd/Cocteau Twins “The Moon and the Melodies”, or Cocteau Twins “Victorialand”.

The entire Abbey Road album and Dorey Gray’s “Drift Away”

“Sailin’” and “I Can See Clearly Now…”

“Lenny” by Stevie Ray Vaughan and “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys.

“Why Worry”, Dire Straits
“Romeo and Juliet”, Dire Straits
“Homesick”, The Cure
“Time”, Pink Floyd
“All I Want Is You”, U2
“The Ghost In You”, Psychedelic Furs
“The Wild, Wild Sea”, Sting

Phil Collins / Genesis … drum solo song … I think it is called the Brazillian (or something very much like that). I just turn it on, turn it up and let the day slide away!!

The songs “Let’s Go Away For Awhile” and “Pet Sounds” from the Beach Boys’ “Pet Sounds.”

Tal Farlow’s recording of “Autumn in New York.”

“Bluesette” by Toots Thielmans.

“Just to Be with You” by Mr. Big
“Groovy Kind of Love” by Phil Collins
“Sail Away” by Enya
anything soft from “Riverdance”

When I’m totally stressed out, I like to listen to I’m Free by Jon Secada, From a Distance by Bette Midler, and Healing Hands by Elton John.

These are songs to GET me relaxed, not so much if I’m already relaxed.

A lot of Alan Parsons’ stuff is pretty relaxing. Eye in the Sky has such a controlled and smooth rythm to it, it even makes me go slower in the car. And that’s quite a feat

Aaaahhhhh…Bluesette. My dad used to play it day and night on the piano when I was a kid He goes through phases where he picks a song and plays it for months until he get it perfect and gets tired of it. Maybe I can get him to resurrect this one.

Other than that, the Brandenburg Concertos.
