Lately I’ve made my way back around to Recoil’s “Liquid”.
Tool’s “Aenima” and “Undertow” in addition to APC’s “Mer de Noms”.
All three have been favorites for two years now and show no signs of being replaced any time soon.
Legend - Bob Marley & the Wailers. I just can’t seem to get enough of it!
‘Want One’ - Rufus Wainwright - Mrs Macau says I’m falling in love with him - she may be right…
‘Trans-Atlantic Ping-Pong’ - Glenn Tilbrook - includes the 1st Difford/Tilbrook song for years.
Both are searingly honest albums with fantastic tunes/playing
Got to say I’ve not heard of the majority of the above - must start downloading
Disturbed - Believe
It’s usually what’s in the deck in my truck. I love it when my wife gets in with me and hears it playing. She rolls her eyes and starts in with the whining.
Her: “Oh god, not Disturbed. Can we listen to something else?”
Me: “Nope.”
What about “The Thirteenth Step” and “Lateralus”? I actually like those albums better than the ones before them.
Peace Love Death Metal by The Eagles of Death Metal
No, they’re not “Death Metal”… not that there’s anything wrong with that.
My current favorite CD is the one from Washington Mutual bank.
Their interest rates are phenomenal.
A strategically obtained recording of Dennis DeYoung in concert.
Lookin’ for a Love, The Best of Bobby Womack 1968-1976.
My cd collection was recently stolen from my car(at IHOP of all places), so I have no current favorite cd I can listen to. Thanks for conjuring up bad memories. But, If I did have a few cd’s I could listen to, I imagine the cd’s would be To The 5 Boroughs by the Beastie Boys and De-loused in the cornatorium by the Mars Volta.
I bought Songbird after hearing Eva Cassidy’s haunting rendition of “Fields of Gold” on an Australian radio station. Eva was a local singer who died of cancer before she got a chance to taste fame; IIRC, all her CDs were released posthumously.
I’m taking a random walk through my library’s collection. This time around, listening to Barenakedladies’ “Maroon,” which is beginning to grow on me. Late last night, as I pulled into the driveway, I heard them sing:
“If you think of her as Joan of Arc
She’s burning for you, get your car out of park
If you think of her as Catherine the Great
Then you should be the horse to help her meet her fate”
Now that’s what I call a love song!
I’m also listening to the Kronus Quartet doing the string quartets of Philip Glass, which actually sounds better than you might expect. The repeating motiefs are still there, but they’re slower and more varied than in the Koyaanisqatsi soundtrack.
The Pizza Tapes – Garcia, Grisman, and Rice.
Welcome Interstate Managers – Fountains of Wayne
I don’ thave a single favorite right now. I have a five-way tie.
Gary Jules Trading Snake Oil for Wolftickets
Wilco Summerteeth
Ben Jeln Give It All Away
Katie Melua Call Off the Search
Steely Dan A Decade of Steely Dan…
Car: Counting Crows This Desert Life
indoors: Cyndi Lauper At Last
Either the Forbidden Broadway Soundtrack (20th Anniversary Edition) or the Avenue Q Soundtrack. Being in a musical makes you feel the need to listen to show-tunes.
Marc Bonilla’s EE Ticket. Fantastic instrumental guitar record. Hard to find, nowadays (originally released in the 80’s, released on CD in '93, never considered a ‘hit’)
The Human Equation by Ayreon. This album is too amazing for words.
I’ve been pretty addicted to SEAL’S new CD lately. I have all of his recordings and they just keep getting better:)
