Everyday stuff:
Heath/Skor (same thing, really)
Butterfinger
Almond M&M’s, but peanut will do.
For something special, I had some of this the other day, and really enjoyed it.

If I had a vagina; eating a ferrero rocher would give me multiple orgasms.
Mars Bar or the local equivalent, Bar-One
Lunch Bar (Not sure if this is uniquely South African, it’s by Nestle, with wafer, nuts & caramel)
Kit Kat
Toblerone
Aero - mint especially
Lindt - 75% and Intense Orange
Ferrero Rocher
Kendal Mint Cake.
I think I have tried them all by now…
My fav’s aren’t bars though…
Those lil chocolate balls filled with Liquid Liquor
Cellas Chocolate covered cherries
After 8 thin mints
candy bars I buy most often:
Recess peanut butter cups
3 muskateers w/ a mountain dew
Cadbury caramello
The rest of em I grab as I feel the need for.
I’m a big candy lover, and I always keep an assortment of bars in my kitchen drawer. My favorites are Mounds, Almond Joy, Planter’s Peanut Bar, and Snickers (regular). I’m also big on Heath, Look, Big Hunk, Midnight (better than regular Milky Way, which is already pretty yummy), M&Ms (peanut butter, plain, or dark), Payday, and Munch (if I can’t get Planter’s).
Best of all, of course, is a box of See’s!
Snickers, Peanut M&Ms, and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. Oh, the deliciousness!
Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews.
Philly candy. It was very hard to find them anywhere else, but so worth the trouble. Sadly, the original company was bought out by another one who mucked around with the formula. Now they’re just a sweet, sweet memory.
Snickers
Kit Kat
Baby Ruth
And not a bar, but Cadbury’s Creme Eggs! Man, I love those–it’s a good thing for my waistline that they only sell them around Easter.
Anyone here ancient enough to remember the Welch’s Fudge Bar??
Not me; sorry.
I love Butterfingers, Mounds (coconut and chocolate - O the joy!), Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Heath Bars and peanut M&Ms.
I also like to get those little rigid bags of Ghirardelli dark chocolate wafers with raspberry filling. Mmmmmmmmmm, they’re good.
Payday.
Reese’s PB cups are revolting.
I sometimes like Snickers but they have to be fairly fresh. Twix are ok. Milky Way really depends on the day.
But, Payday - I’d eat this even if I had a stomach virus. It would totally be worth the pain and suffering.
Here’s a vote for Hershey’s w/ almonds.
Many years ago, a coworker went to Ireland for a funeral. When she came back, she brought Cadbury chocolates. Oh my. I’d actually give up a whole box of Paydays for that.
I wondered if I was the only person who loves Big Hunks. Whenever I’m able to get them, I eat 'em till my jaws ache, and then I eat some more!
I used to eat Big Hunks, but now I’m afraid it would pull my crowns off!
Violet Crumbles
Last time we had a candy bar thread, I discovered that they make Big Hunk t-shirts. I couldn’t resist! You get a bag of miniature Big Hunk bars with the shirt.
I enjoy a Cadbury Fruit & Nut from time to time, but my favourite chocolate bars of all time were from when I lived in Switzerland. During the Christmas season, Frey (the chocolate brand of Migros, the biggest supermarket chain there) came out with Christmas-flavoured bars - Pear & Nut, Cinnamon & Clove and best of all, Gingerbread. I found a gourmet gingerbread chocolate bar here in Canada once (for a whopping $6!) but it just wasn’t the same - the ginger flavour was too strong, and the chocolate a bit dark for my liking.
In general the milk chocolate in Switzerland was just unbeatable - even the “M-Budget” brand of chocolate beats Hershey by a mile in my mind.
I loved Seven Up bars! Only a little less than Milkshake bars. Sadly neither one is made anymore.
Supposedly the 7 Up bottling company bought Seven Up and discontinued them so it could keep the name exclusive to the soda.
(I knew there was some reason I always preferred Sprite.)
Well fuck me three ways to Sunday!
It looks like my favorite bar is gone! The **Hershey’s Golden Almond Bar **is not listed on their website. This was a bar about the size of a normal Hershey Bar but maybe four times thicker. On the underside (the topside when pouring the mold) was a solid layer of whole almonds, not pieces or chunks!
I guess we’re going back to modulating Hershey’s Kisses and roasted almonds from Trader Joe’s. Shit.
