What's your favorite flower? Tree?

Hey all… Being the Horticulturist that I am, was wondering what people’s favorite flowers or plants might be…

Some of mine:

From my gardens:

Metasequoia glyptostroboides (Dawn Redwood)
*Aconitum cv. * (Monk’s Hood)
*Heuchera cv. * (Coral Bells)
*Nymphaea cv. * (Water Lily- fav is pink)
*Asclepias tuberosa * (Butterfly Weed)
*Wisteria spp. *
*Crocosmia * ‘Lucifer’ beautiful bulbous perennial
*Iris spp. * (all Iris are awesome)
*Clematis * ‘Sweet Autumn’ (beautiful fragrant fall bloomer)

Well, I could go on forever and I don’t want to bore anyone… What can I say? I am a guy who loves flowers and plants and such… Please forgive any spelling errors on the botanicals- was just doing them off the top of my head (to avoid any common name confusion as to what I was talking about…)

Out side of my garden- I think Orchids are awesome… some of the most beautiful flowers

So, how about anyone else here that happens to like flora? Any favs?

Chris

Just out of curiosity, has anybody ever paged you over a loudspeaker by announcing: “Has anybody seen Mike Hunt?”

(You’d never guess how old I am from thatquestion.)

Anyway, my favorite flowers are roses, either red or pink. My favorite kind of trees are sugar maples, the bigger the better. And my favorite plant is a silvervein plant named Spike, who drinks more water than many medium-sized dogs.

My favorite flower is a tree. Magnolia.

I like maple trees and white birch. We’ve got a birch in my front yard, it’s nice. Flowers? I like wildflowers in great abundance. Specific flowers I like… hmm. I don’t like roses as a rule but I do like the ones whose petals are yellow, fading to pink, and the “Peace” rose that is white and pale pink. And cosmos are cool. I’ve got a four foot tall pink one out back, dwarfing my black sunflowers.

I don’t know the scientific names. My favorite tree would probably be an Oak. Flower, I guess would be a Snapdragon.

Living where I do, I’d have to say the the Live Oak tree is my favorite - they just seem to have a personality all their own.

As for flowers, I like white daisies - they’re like a bouquet of smiles!

Flowers: I have a little rose garden-- Cl. Blaze (red), Iceberg (white), and Flutterbye (yellow-pink). I started off on miniature roses, but I’m doing much better with floribundas and climbers.

Trees: I’ve got two favorite trees-- a little ficus and a japanese maple. The japanese maple’s leaves look like marijuana leaves.

I ABSOLUTELY adore Roses, Daisies, and Sunflowers…dude, it doesn’t get much better than those three right there…although Gardenias do smell quite beautiferous…as do Magnolias and Men. Mmm…Men. Anway…and a tree? Well, I particularly enjoy Jacaranda trees (If not for the cute purple flowers, than for the name - it just feels so sensually primitive to say: JACARANDAAAAAA!!!)

I hope this doesn’t sissify me too much, but I want to jump in, too.
I’m a big fan of any hybrid tea rose…actually, almost any rose. Looooove the smell. And they’re pretty, too.
Love orchids, esp. phalanopsis.
Um…gerbera daisies are groovy, too.
I like epiphylums, too (no idea if that’s spelled correctly). They’re succulent-ish I guess with long, flat leaf-like things (and little thorns occasionally). Most of the year they look butt ugly, but when they bloom, they’re something else. Grandma had a lot of those. Anyone have any idea what I’m talking about?
Trees - probably Jacaranda. There are a couple of streets in Pasadena and San Marino that are lined with these. When it’s the right season, the street is covered by the most amazing canopy of purple flowers. Love those things.

Flower: Tulips (for looks), Jasmine (for smell).

Tree: Magnolia.
