What's your favorite non-cola softdrink?

Has anyone tried Northern Neck Ginger Ale, it’s a Virginia product…it’s really good.

ting.

I like Adirondack Raspberry Lime.

Schweppes Bitter Lemon. Can’t find it much these days, but when I do…

Jones Soda. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. . .

I knew there had to be another bitter lemon lover out there. I’ve only ever had the Canada Dry, not Schweppes. Haven’t found either in Columbus for a couple years.

Diet Mt. Dew is my addiction, but I like Fresca, Vernor’s, and Clearly Canadian’s blackberry. One soda I remember drinking a lot of as a kid was Blue Sky; soda the flavor and color of blue popsicles. I haven’t seen it in twenty years, though.

Ruby Red Squirt!
That’s my favorite non-cola softdrink.
I like regular Squirt, too, but only with bourbon in it.

Diet Mt Dew ( we call it “spew”) and diet storm (“drizzle”)

Cheerwine…a cherry soda…its only found in the mid-south.

And for some odd reason…Montana.

Sussex Golden gingerale.

Ale-8-1…it’s a Kentucky product, very hard to find outside the state. (Until they recently started canning some of it in Elizabethtown, it was hard to get it west of Lexington; it doesn’t matter, since civilized people don’t drink it out of a can, anyway.)

It is sort-of ginger ale, not too spicy and very sweet, and flavored with what I honestly believe is Cascade hops. (It’s a well-kept secret, of course.) It comes in thick-glass 12-oz returnable bottles with a 20 cent deposit. (It also comes in various nonreturnable bottles and the aforementioned cans, but who cares?) Conventional wisdom is that it contains considerably more sugar and caffeine than most soft drinks, but it’s not the case. (Much of the rumor comes from their early-20th-century slogan, “For Bracing Pep”.)

It’s the perfect beverage for a humid Kentucky summer, goes well with a nice salty bag of peanuts (which some purists actually pour straight into the bottle), and mixes nicely with Maker’s Mark to form what I call the Glass of Bluegrass. If you’re ever rolling through the state, I suggest you pick one up.

Dr. J

Nah, I had plenty of birch beer growing up in Pennsylvania. Down here in Louisiana, nobody has ever heard of it, though. Good stuff.

Squirt
Root Beer
Iced Tea
Lemondade

The greatest soda of them all… the now extinct Josta. Let’s have a moment of silence…

I said SILENCE, you stinker!!!

Cherry 7-Up
Brisk Iced Tea

Cheerwine - I’ve only seen it in NC, but then I don’t go much further south.

Mello Yello - Why’d they stop selling this? Beat the hell outta Mtn Dew.

Sun Drop - mmmmmmm

Pepsi. It doesn’t really taste like coke, but it beats iced tea.

Modian, no one beats the hell out of Mt. Dew without going through me first!

I like anything sweet–Adirondack grape, Orange Crush (or Sunkist), Snapple pink lemonade. I have Mt. Dew for breakfast.

I love Mt. Dew, but I don’t think I’d like it if it’s gone through you first.
