I’m Yours, Jason Mraz.
“Have a Nice Day” by Bon Jovi.
Top 5, in order:
Gigantic -* Pixies*
Saltarello - Dead can Dance
Silent Day - Shelleyan Orphan
Strawberry Wine - My Bloody Valentine
Ceremony - New Order
I have no way of checking, but I’d guess it’s something by Kesha–maybe “Tik Tok,” maybe “Blow.” (At least if I limit it to the last year or so.)
Not what I would have guessed at all:
- Today - Jefferson Airplane
- Listening House - Lazarus
- Fat Man - Jethro Tull
- Court and Spark - Joni Mitchell
- Home - Karla Bonoff
Lorelei (Live) - Styx
I don’t need no doctor (Live) - Humble Pie
I finally figured out how to do it. Number one (all-time) is “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley. “Tik Tok” is #6, and “Blow” is about 20th.
Apparently “Cherub Rock” by the Smashing Pumpkins with 63 plays. “Clash City Rockers” is a close second at 61. These are heavily influenced by the plays on my iPhone’s playlist for my runs, and the songs are all of a 85-90 cadence. My most played non-playlist song is “See No Evil” by Television.
If we count songs on my workout playlist which get an unfair edge, #1 is “Dance, Dance” by Fall Out Boy. If we exclude those it’s “The First Shot” by The Underwater.
It’s not a song. My most frequently played “piece” is the radio call of the final play of the 2002 Super Bowl. Gil Santos and Gino Cappalletti set the stage, then rejoice when Adam Viniateri kicks it through the uprights as the Patriots defeat the defending champion Rams.
The reason it is most played is because it is in every playlist–Jesus Christ Superstar, Lady Gaga, Frank Sinatra, Ben Folds–the Super Bowl call always makes an apppearance.
