What's Your Global IQ?

52%. And yeah, that was “global” in the same sense that Blink 182 is “alternative.”

No, they actually load a separate flash file for every single question, after you hit ‘next question’. Since I’m using Camino’s flash controls (which means clicking to play a new flash file), I gave up after about 20 questions.

It didn’t help that some of the questions were uselessly vague, like “What is the most-visited country in the world?” Tourism only or business? Does Hong Kong to China count as a ‘visit’ or not?

Or the tossed out, “How many of the candidates are lawyers?”, where it’s fairly clear that we’re in the context of the US presidential candidates, but I have no idea what field they’re choosing from.

53%.

And it’s hard!

I assume it’s referred to as a “Global IQ” test because there are small handful of questions that are not US based.

I gave up after it asked which politician had been in the most sitcoms

Title of the Quiz: “What’s Your Global IQ?”

For starters, the creators of the test are unable to distinguish between intelligence and knowledge. The title of the test alone renders the entire test suspect.

IQ has to do with intelligence.
Knowledge has to do with knowing something. If you do not know something you are ignorant about it and not stupid. If you do know a fact, you know that fact. You are not necessarily intelligent.

This is a test (apparently) of knowledge and not IQ. If its authors are too stupid to understand the difference it is unlikely their ability to choose meaningful questions is very good.

Idiots.

I managed a 63%. I guess I did well on the later parts because I know nothing about the presidential candidates.

My score got me this rating:
Your Global IQ is 70. We’d take you to dinners with really fancy people.
3.8%

The mode was in the 40-50% range.

(Missed edit window making a tee time…)

Of course it’s possible that they are just ignorant of the difference, in which case the test is even more suspect.

I got 45%, mostly on the strength of the “Faith” and “Literature” sections, and damn, that was hard. (I maintain, however, that “What was T.S. Eliot’s favorite brand of cigarettes?” is not a real literature question. Hmmph.)

I’ve answered 12 Q’s & have 3% right. I don’t think I want to play anymore.

I call bullshit on people in Europe getting RFID chips implanted in their arms in order to access VIP clubs. (question 45)

What was Global about it? Does the world care how many sitcoms an American presidential candidate has been in?

45%. Counted 37 purely internal-to-the-US questions in there, and that’s not counting all the questions featuring American bands, American literature and American artists, which would push teh total to over half.

Global my arse.

And what’s with the evolution question? (“Darwinian Evolution is random” - answer false, apparently) How much randomness do you need in a system before you say it “is” random?

That’s the point at which I gave up, shaking my head.

I got 50%. However, much of it was based on wild guessing/semi-educated guessing.

I agree that it was very U.S.-centric.

What disturbed me more was that they missed an opportunity to relay information by not giving further details on true/false questions. And, of course, it seemed like a random compendium of questions about the world (but mostly the U.S.), only a small fraction of which actually would indicate that you knew anything of consequence.

GT

Me too.

Sing it. It really chaps my hide when trivia tests are presented as “IQ” tests.

Or maybe I just got out of the wrong side of bed this morning.

48%. Got every single one wrong in art, literature, and music.

62%. I thought it was amusing, though really just a collection of trivia.

What a load of shite.

To say that is US centric is like saying that the Pope is a Catholic!

Not only that, but in general its shit.

Its badly laid out taking ages to complete, I got well sick of it after 60 questions, the web designer needs a good kick in the chin.

What is with all the financial and stock market questions ?

There was a vanishingly small number of questions there that would represent ‘knowledge’, lots of gossip, loads of shite.

Calling this a ‘Global’ IQ test is rather like calling an American football team ‘World Champions’ or baseballs’ World’ series - a default since no one else in the world is interested in it.
