My browser opens to www.my.yahoo.com. It shows the top world, national, local and financial news as well as weather, sports and a number of other features.
At home, my ISP’s MOTD page. Boring at times, but often useful for explaining why the email’s slow.
At work, it’s the main corporate portal, but the LAN folks keep trying to change it to another internal portal site unique to my division that I’m “supposed” to want, even though it’s frequently offline.
Either way, I’m more often launching the browser with a desktop item, rather than starting at a homepage then finding a favorite.
For about five years, my home page was my page at www.excite.com, but then my husband found a new site that doesn’t have popups or banner ads, and we both switched to that one. It can be customized, as well. www.myway.com.
Reminds me a lot of the excite page, but the no popups thing is cool, and I like their game links. I play only 2 games and they’re both linked to there.

I started with about:blank when I was on dialup. That way I wasn’t trying to load some page when all I wanted to do was go somewhere else.
Now that I have Cable, Google’s my homepage, but another reason for about:blank is that it’s…well…blank. I’m not one of those people who wants a screenful of information rocketed at my eyes whenever I look at the screen. I don’t need to know the weather, sports scores, stock market, news headlines, dew point, hat sales, and so forth when I sit down at the machine. A blank homepage is like the silence after the conductor taps his baton. It’s right there ready for you to go where you want.
I use Yahoo. I don’t even use my own webpage. As sad as that is.
