What's your IQ?

When I was officially tested, it was 145 or something. However, the internet says it’s 175. I’m gonna go with the internet. . .

Official test in my Jr. year of High School was 165…I’m still questioning it though since I certainly don’t ACT intelligent most of the time

Last time I tested, I scored an 83. But I was having a bad hair day.

Well, I’ll be the only stupid one here and admit that my IQ is only in the 120s.

I was tested in school but don’t remember when, my kid sister and I went and found our school records, mine said I had an IQ of 137, middle sister was 139, baby sister was 118. She was very upset with the disparity. Then I pointed out to her that neither of her smart sisters had done anything with their intelligence.

And baby sister had a grasp of math I could only dream of. I don’t play cards with her. Even at the age of 6 and me four years older she was beating my butt at gin all the way across the the US on vacation one summer. But I beat her at Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble.

Where is a site to test my IQ now?

This brings up the question… does the SDMB actually have an average IQ of 150 or so, which is (for an average of a group) pretty unbelievably astronomical? Or is that just the average IQ of dopers who like to share their IQ with total strangers?

Oh, and for you D&D nerds, a bit of quick arithmetic and an IQ distribution chart indicates that a D&D intelligence of 18 corresponds to an IQ of approximatley 140, and if you add in a percentile, an intelligence of 18/00 corresponds to an IQ of approximately 180.
Of course, my perceived IQ in the eyes of the world just dropped 10 points because I cared enough to type this post

I took a test a couple months ago. I got 132. My mom looked some stuff up on the internet and apparently that’s in the “gifted” range.

I could have told her that.

18/00 Intelligence?!

Geez Louise, the “exceptional strength” rules were oddball enough without having to throw an “exceptional intelligence” percentile roll into the mix!

And lest I forget nitpick:

It’s only AD&D that uses those exceptional strength percentile-roll rules. Original D&D and the new 3rd Edition D&D (which both lack the initial A in their names) do not use exceptional strength at all. The 3rd Edition D&D scale goes straight from Strength 18 to Strength 19 without passing Go.

WISC IV at age 6 : 139(+/-5)

Haven’t done any adult tests.

Haven’t done anything with it recently - and I still don’t hang out in GD. Oh well

I’ve thought about starting a similar thread several times because I remember someone showing up a few years ago and bragging about his IQ - and quite a few Dopers promptly blew him out of the water. One reason I love this place is that there are actually a whole bunch of people here who are smarter than me, whereas in RL I rarely meet anyone that I can have a real conversation with. :frowning:

I don’t know what my official IQ is, although I’m taking the Mensa test Saturday, so maybe I’ll get a better idea. I took about a dozen online IQ tests; my lowest score was 130 and my highest was 157. Although I don’t think those tests are very accurate, I was still surprised at the results - I’ve always known I was a lot smarter than average (college reading level in 4th grade) but I never thought it was more than 120 or so.

Thank goodness for the SDMB! It may sound strange, but it’s soooo nice to not be the smartest person in the room, so to speak. I actually feel inferior here - it’s wonderful! (Well, that does sound pretty goofy, but I bet a few of you know what I mean.)

Doing an internet search for ‘IQ tests’ will turn up plenty of sites offering free tests - I don’t have my links handy, but The International High IQ Society has several really nifty tests online, including one that is supposed to be especially designed for people whose IQs are over 140. (Hint: Don’t pay for any online tests - there are a dozen free ones for every one that charges something.) There is also at least one page that has links to over 100 online IQ tests (none of them verified, however). And both the International Mensa site and the American Mensa site have a short ‘Mensa workout’ test. It won’t give you an IQ score, but it will tell you whether or not you have a good chance of passing the formal admission test, which requires an IQ of 130.

I’ll probably flunk the Mensa test Saturday and settle back into my 120+ life, but they’re giving the test in conjuction with their big Regional to-do and at least I’m invited to spend the rest of the day there and attend the party Saturday night. I’ll get to rub real, live elbows (as opposed to message board elbows) with people smarter than me!

Just an idea -

Why don’t all of you geniuses go out and do something creative instead of posting your IQ scores on a stupid message board?

38C.

Oh - were you asking for IQ? - I thought you wanted bra size.

alice_in_wonderland is currently in the lead with the score that has impressed me the most so far

I’ve never been tested and never really been interested, frankly. I don’t think it’s particularly useful to know. I can say I’m reasonably bright and I don’t even come close to living up to my potential. What more is a number going to say about me?

I was tested at about age 11, and it came to 147. Got enrolled in gifted classes, flunked out, got enrolled in regular classes, flunked out, got enrolled in remedial classes, flunked out. Dropped out of high school in March of my senior year (“No one DORs in the 13th week!” said my sister) and took my GED the day my class graduated. Got a perfect score and a scholarship to college. Flunked out.

Was diagnosed with ADD at age 30. Re-tested IQ - 157.

Lamar – the title of this forum is MPSIMS. This is a thread about something mundane and personal (IQ scores) that we are sharing. Learn to live with it.

coosa – the reason I visit the SDMB regularly is to read the opinions of very intelligent and knowledgeable people. I’ve come to expect this board to have a high standard of quality. It’s always a thrill to learn something new, and this place is certainly good for that – not to mention the wonderfully witty, naughty, and sometimes poignant moments.

MaxTheVool – the people who have responded to this thread are only a tiny percentage of the overall SDMB population, so it’s probably not a good indicator of the median intelligence quotient of this board. However, I believe the SDMB does have some of the most erudite and interesting posters on the 'Net.

LifeOnWry – I, too, got my GED. I skipped senior year, received my GED, and am now in my second semester of college.

.:Nichol:.

Various tests have put me at between 189 and 130s, I think. Seems rather silly to me … sorta like those MENSA tests where if you can figure out the patterns/questions they always use, any future test you take is like taking the same test again. Eventually you’re going to just recognize one question after another, and then it’s just pattern recognition.

::yawn:: I care about as much about my IQ as the color of the sheets on my bed.

around 140 when I was 5…Dont remember what test it was.
