What's your LEAST favorite Looney Tunes character?

“OOooooooh, better give me a whole LOTTA lumps!”

:smack: in response to BrainGlutton’s explanation of Pepe LePew. In my defense, I WAS a child, and wasn’t up on cultural stereotypes.

[Grammar Nazi] Who’s your LEAST favorite Looney Tunes character [/GN]

I gotta go with Tweety. Total waste of time.

I am shocked (and delighted) to see that so many others hate Tweety. I thought he was overwhelmingly popular and I was going to be the voice of dissent here.

But this . . . THIS is an OUTRAGE:

Pete Puma is great. To this day I can watch that short and laugh my ass off uncontrollably at almost everything he says.

“Oh, 3 or 4”

“But I don’t like coffee— it gives me a headache!

“Better give me a lotta lumps. A whooooollle lotta lumps!”

Easy Pepe LePew, it’s the same thing every single time.

Does he ever do anything but chase a cat with a stripe down it’s back.

The only time I ever laughed at a Pepe LePew cartoon is when the cat said “le meow.” LOL…

Using the “Le” was a stroke of genius

Yeah, the ones where Wile E. talks. I also love the ones with the kids watching coyote/roadrunner and one kid says he wishes Wile E. would catch the roadrunner.

I’m not a fan of Foghorn Leghorn. I’d also probably go with Bugs Bunny, largely because he almost always won and didn’t deserve it. Smug bastard.
Of course I like Daffy, especially the earlier, crazy Daffy.

Didn’t like tweety and I don’t much care for Miss Priss or that damn brainiac bird (with the big glasses) that was always giving Foghorn a hard time.

I thought Duck Amuck was a better toon, but I see your point.

Tweety Bird and Henery Hawk were both very irritating. Sam Sheepdog was just boring and unlikeable.

Hated Tweety as well, but the one skit where he turned into a monster really freaked me out as a kid, it was a horrid looking thing. Shudder!

You meanthis?

Yes, shuts eyes, runs and screams…terrible, horrible creature!

Sheesh, Icerigger, you don’t gotta call me names :frowning: :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks like I’m Pepe’s only fan.

Elmer Fudd just got on my nerves.

AHEM! See my post above.

Nah, I defended him in the other thread. (“He gets more pussy than any of ya.”)

For those who criticize the Pepe cartoons for being formulaic, that’s part of the fun: how is the cat going to get a white stripe this time?

Nah, I like him quite a bit. He’s not on Bugs Bunny or Wile E. Coyote’s level, but he’s good.

Who singles out Pepe LePew as formulaic? Aren’t all the Looney Tunes schticks formulaic? Wile E. Coyote has brilliant trap, Road Runner eludes, trap backfires! Rinse, repeat.

I’m definitely in the pro-Pepe camp, by the way. I’m sure you were dying to know.

Elmer Fudd? One of the best cartoon antagonists ever. He was at his best in the cartoons “What’s Opera, Doc?” (kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit, KILL THE WABBIT!), and “Rabbit of Seville,” as well as the hunting trilogy of “Rabbit Seasoning,” “Rabbit Fire,” and “Duck! Rabbit! Duck!”

I don’t know if he’s Bugs’ best antagonist, but he’s certainly in the top three of Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, and Fudd himself.
